Fantasy Empires

Aye very good ideas. Hum I think the new FE version will be very different compared to the old. I want to make these changes, I am playing a lot AD&D now, and I love the races/aligments idea. Aye there will be evil human kingdoms for example in the same aligment group, like the orcs of course. Also drow should be an evil elf race, but Im not sure that there are any unit anims for the drow units. [Maybe I will just use the regular elf gfx?..not sure yet..]

I am hesitating about the max number of civs. I think 16 or 20 would be enough, maybe 24. 31 is a bit too much imho. More doesnt means better...

As for the new editor feature, what give us the possibility to make 'unique' tech trees..I am very pleased about it. :)
Finally something really useful improvement in the editor.

Is there a full list that what will be new in the upcoming Conquests editor? [Other than locked alliances?]


PS. This thread has more than 500 replies now. I must say WOW! I never tought that my mod will be so popular. Thanks for the interest, I promise that the new FE update will be even lot better! ;)

They're trying to do something like that here .

Remember that everything that is added/changed in a conquest can also be added/changed using the editor.

Ah.....those features are sound promising indeed!
Now what is the release date of the expansion?

Btw....post some ideas about race specific advances/wonders etc, what you would like to see. I have lot of ideas, but I can use more. :cool:

Oh...than more than likely FE II. will be ready for ~mid november. :)

You could use regular elf gfx since the Drow did kinda come from the same race of elf that the normal elf came from didn't they? They have very similiar tactics except they prefer the dark instead of light and are a little more morbid. If nothing else you could check with embrodead. He is making an evil elf race in his WH mod. SInce he is a unit maker as well you check and see if he has any dark elves. They could just be like elves except pale skin and darker clothes.

I always max the civs when I play single player, but this mod seemed perfect for multiplayer and I never really played it otherwise. 16-20 would be good so that every civ will be more different and there won't be any "cloned civs.":) :) :) Besides. I have a poweful pc and 31 never bothered me, but a lot of people can't play that size a game. 16-20 would lessen the size of download for those poor guys who still use dial-up as well.:cry:

:eek: You should have known it would since it was the first mod I saw on this forum that was truly a fantasy mod. Most just cut out the last two eras and spread out the techs from the first 2 eras and called it a fantasy tech tree! :confused: There were not very many fantasy units then but with "WH" by embryodead and "LoTR" by Celeborn,Mrtn,SoCallion,PCHighway and more I believe, there has been a wave of fantasy units being created by some really good unit makers (Kindred, Kinboat, embyodead, utahjazz and more)

As far as huge downloads: It took me 2 hours to download DyP 1.50 but I still did and I believe tons of fans did. :crazyeye: I wouldn't worry about the size too much. Internet gets faster and large downloads become easier. If FE2 takes 2 hours then I can find something else to do (My Gamecube is next to my pc with Madden2004!).:goodjob:
 
I downloaded the latest Civ3 PTW patch (1.27) and then downloaded Fantasyempires v.2 and the 3 parts of update 2.5
I made a folder in the Civ 3 PTW Scenarios directory and in the order:-

Fantasyempires v.2
Update 2.5 part 11
Update 2.5 part 2
Update 2.5 part 3

I then started up Civ 3 PTW and proceeded to Load a Scenario found it in the menu and at 30% got an error message:-

ERROR READING FILE
missing entry in "text\PediaIcons.txt" :ICON_BLDG_Sage

The Game will now exit

Please help me as I was really looking forward to this mod please reply soon.
 
Sorry Nog, since I wasnt modding civ3 for a long time, the mod is not compatible with the latest patch version.
The mod will have a huge update, once the new expansion is out. Until than, you cannot play if you apply the latest patch.
I think the mod is working fine with the v1.21 ptw version.
[Someone reckon please, I forgot that what game version is compatible with the mod.]

If I uninstall Play The World and then reinstall it, installing the 1.21 patch ontop will it then work?

Also why does having a newer patch cause the sage tower to be missing because in the PediaIcons file I cann see the #ICON_BLDG_Sage.

Yes it must work with the 1.21 without any errors.
 
noog007: U can also simply uninstall the 1.27 patch and then install the 1.21 instead of reinstalling the whole thing.. :)

I could use some help to make civilopedia entries. If you want to help, post civilopedia entries for the units, listed above. Of course I can make simple entries, but detailed entries would be lot better.
 
There is a Death Knight unit floating around somewhere for the undead civ.
 
I have uninstalled the 1.27 patch then installed the 1.21 then reinstalling ure mod in the way I described before.
However I still get the same message
I also noticed earlier in the forums people were getting the same message as me and what did they do to fix it?
 
I am not sure Nog, but they managed to do it. You decompressed the mod to the right folder?
Ya Death Knight will go for the undead. Balrog? Hrm....that unit is too powerful for a basic unit. Also demons are not undeads.
Kindred you should make some more undead units. The skeleton warrior is very cool. :)
 
@Balrog: You are a true fantasy fan then. You actually know the difference between demons and undead. There is also a Deathclaw unit that could serve as a lesser demon.

That deathclaw unit looks cool! It will be added to the mod.
 
There are many more "race" units made then the ones u have listed... embryodead made tons of em..

Also the elves should be able to build high elves and ents..
