Fantasy Empires

The only mod-able strategic fantasy game I know of (that has been released recently) is Warlords IV. That's probably what he's playing...
 
I guess I'm just going to have to get on the ball and make my own fantasy mod. I'll have to start a discussion thread in the next couple of days. :mwaha:

I'm lost to your question. Do you mean the Kinboat that floats around making units and stuff in this forum or are you asking something entirely different? Kinboat is a great unit maker on this forum. I'm pretty sure he's made mods, but I haven't dug very deep in those threads.

No way. He said 1000 units and 400 spells in the vanilla game. Warlords 4. is not even close to that.

lol..I was searching the web for fantasy games, but I haven't found a game like that so far. :(
I guess it must be a fantasy game with spells...ah well.
 
yup the same kinboat i believe .. i was wondering if its the same guy who was one of the early moddrs for total annihilation .. actually that kinboat i think if i remember corrrectly (sometimes i cant remember things) made a modding tool for total annihilation
that made it easier for modders of that game but i havent played or checked the total annihilation threads in a long time .. so the details are fuzzy in my head
 
Anyone hear from Balrog lately? I warned him to stay away from grey haired wizards. Can't be playing with their lot now. :nono: They're dangerous.
 
I installed the full mod and the 3 patches to my scenarios folder but the Fantasy Empire.bix file is saved into it's own folder under scenarios so when I try to load a scenario, it is not found. I copied it to the scenarios root folder but whenI want to play it, it reports an error can't find Art\civlopedia\icons\units\economismm.pcx

I imagine it must be run out of the folder it was installed into. If that is the case, how to I get Civ to find the scenario save game file so I can play this scenario?

Sorry for the post above. I reinstalled it all and it seems to work fine now. Must have skipped one of the 2.5 patches.
 
Need some advice on this issue: I build my first city on my first turn and as soon as it is built, before I end my turn, I suffer an embarrasing conquest defeat.

Since the mod hard codes conquest as a victory condition, can anyone offer a solution which will allow me to play a bit? Do you all get this error?
 
Make sure to turn off the regicide mode. Balrog didn't set up any kings for the mod so it defaults to the settler and when you build a city your settler is gone and the computer thinks your dead. Make sure regicide and mass regicide are both off.
 
I dunno. I tried to contact Balrog via email, but no answer. :(
I hope that he isnt gone for another 6 months. :(
I mean I love embryo's warhammer mod, but I would prefer FE II, or even an updated FE I. :)
 
I really like this mod as well. I do enjoy the War Hammer more, but this would had a good feel and lots of potential. Oh well, I'll just keep tinkering with my mod and hopeflly finish it soon after the holidays.
 
No I am here, and yes there will be FE II., and yes it will be awesome. :)
When? Do not ask this, maybe very soon, maybe not. Depends, I am modding 2 games atm.

Well, I had no time to touch Civ3 for months.
I don't know that what is possible with the new editor, but what is possible, that will be added.
Races/alignments/custom tech trees[i think this is possible with the new editor?]/heaps of units/magery/new images of course/etc etc.
I am working hard in a great mod group [BF1942], I am dating with my gf + baby is coming :cool: , so I barely have time NOW, but I will have lot of free time SOON. [Prolly after X-mas.]


Stay tuned, I promise that FE II. will be something very new and unique!

custom tech trees were possible with ptw too, just needed a custom starting tech for each party. so it's possible in C3C ;)
 
Alignments are very possible with the flavor attributes and so are locked alliances.

A few new thing are the stealth attack by land units. That is a great feature for assassins and specialty units. I'm overwhelmed at the moment with my own mod, trying to bring in all these things.

BTW: There are tons more fantasy units since you were last here. Amazons galore and a handful of Lizardmen as well.
