I certainly have read a lot of 'sci-fi fantasy crap'. And it's my preferred reading that I need to do for 15 minutes at the end of the day. I spend a LOT of time reading science journals, though, so they present the majority of my reading.

Really, my favorite book is Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis. That's good scifi.

Needs more genres: Fantasy, comedy, religion, family, etc. Too much falls under "other." As such, fiction, sci-fi, are my favorites, and I do enjoy some fantasy books and some non-fiction books.

To be fair, there is a GREAT deal of crap in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. I've read a few of the Aliens and Predator novels, and those were crap. I also read the novelization of the Doom video game - and that was crap too.

My current favourite book is John C. Wrights "The Golden Ascension", but it's the third in a trilogy.

I voted for science fiction-fantasy crap.

I wish people would stop combining these two genres. They are very different and it makes it more difficult for sci-fi lovers like me find good books when they are mixed in with the fantasy "crap."

Fantasy is about magic and mytholodgy contains elements such as wizards, dragons, gods, etc.

Science fiction is about future technolodgies and what the world would be like if and when they exist.

There are of course some stories that contain elements of both genres but usually they are overwhelmingly one or the other.

I like the type with cover and pages best. Never heard of that crap type. I imagine the letters must be hard to read and the smell would turn people off a bit.

Agree. Science Fiction is not crap. Its a grave insult to Star Wars Fans and Ghost in the Shell Fans (oh yeah and the trekies too ). Rap however is crap.

Also, Science Fiction and Fantasy are two different genres.
