Why ruin a perfectly good soda? Personally I'm a Pepper Lite. If you must have an alcoholic beverage, a bock beer will do nicely.

It depends on the time of day/situation.

Before noon, nothing is more satisfying than a Mimosa, which is orange juice and champagne. They go especially well with pancakes and bacon, and the best part is, they help out with hangovers. Of course, try tailgating at a college football game with one of these, you'll most likely end up being stuffed into a port-o-potty by 3 guys in overalls named Joe-Bob, so be careful.

Late at night, or traveling by airplane or train, it's gin and tonic all the way. It's fairly light, and the citrus taste is quite refreshing. Some have been known to add vodka to their gin and tonic, but it is not highly recommended. Be careful, though, too many of these, and you'll wake up feeling like someone was shoving pine-needles down your throat all night. Not pleasant.

If eating pasta, or I'm out to dinner with my father and he's buying, nothing tops a fine glass of red wine. A good Chianti is hard to beat, especially with pasta, but there are plenty of good California Cabs that do the job nicely. I've never really been a huge Merlot fan. Of course, if I'm buying, I never get wine because most of the good ones are just too damn expensive.

Pretty much any other time, it's beer. I'm a pussy who drinks light beer most of the time for caloric reasons, but I much prefer a good pint of Guiness. My favorite beer, though, is Brooklyn Lager - it's very heavy for a lager, and quite tasty as well. I recently had the intense pleasure of visiting a bar in NYC that had it on tap, and it was out of this world.

So, I guess my answer is that my favorite drink depends on what time it is, where I am, what I'm doing, and what mood I'm in.

G& T is great and its been too long since I had one, Mostly I drink Asahi Super Dry or Victoria Bitter. Less often I`ll have a Guiness a Kilkenny or a Lemon Two Dogs. Oh and sometimes a Chu-hi.

I also like Islay whisky

Stapel - quick question. Which Islay do you like better - Lagavulin or Laphroaig?

That's a tough one! I like Lagavulin better I think, but right now I am comparing a 16 year old Lagavulin with a 10 year old Laphroaig. The Laphroaig Cask strength is one of my favs too. Bowmore is not 'my choice' and Ardbeg is fine too.

That black liquid that Americans crave...Not oil!

But Coca-Cola, or Pepsi!

I also enjoy German Orange Nektar fruit drink, and various versions of Red Bull.

.
Mostly I drink vanilla coke. mmmmm
Schweppes creaming soda
Irish breakfast tea by Twinnings.

G&T as long as it's made with decent gin such as Bombay or Tanqueray... also must be v. cold and have a slice of lime in it. You wouldn't believe how many bar staff give you luke warm tonic with no ice!
If I'm out largin it then nothing beats vodka and redbull but the hangovers are getting a bit much to handle these days!
Wine wise I prefer white and a South African Chardonnay (eg Kumala) is my absolute fave.

Vodka and Redbull brings back a few bad (and painful) memories for me. One night I downed 2 pints of double vodka and red bull in two huge gulps, not very clever, and more to the point I don't even like Red Bull. That happend well into the night so I was quite well on as it was.

Jagerblaster - nothing like Jagermeister and Red Bull to keep you going all night!

Gin and tonic, with a slice of lime

Hmm we had near the same results with the "How do you use your brain" quiz, and we both love gin and tonic. Me thinks that we are somwhat similar.

Gin and Tonic :goodjob:

My top 5 favorite drinks
1. Wild Cherry Pepsi
2. Vanilla Coke
3. Diet Cherry Coke
4. Pepsi
5. Mountain Dew Code Red

Stella Artois.

Because it's the only really really nice beer available in draught in many places in Dublin. A guarranteed no hangover beer.

EDIT: But it has to be in a tulip glass. I really hate their "you wouldn't serve champagne in a teacup" glasses. They look ok, but it just doesn't feel like drinking beer.

It's a tough call. If we're talking mixed drinks it would be a vodka paralyser. If we're talking bottled stuff you can toss me a Pil.

("Pil" is short for Molson Brewery's Pilsner for those not familiar with Canadian beer)

Of course if we're talking all beverages, not just alchoholic, then I would have to say water. Honestly.
