I wish to express the fact that I voted for Earth-based alt hist (tanks) some time ago, which I now see is the most popular choice. This makes me feel like less of a freak.

Thanks! Yes, I think I got away with pretty much ignoring all the minor nations in that NES! Though, one thing I've learned from 1936 NES is the need for a robust research/development system, regardless of how simplified things are. I totally failed in that department. I think some kind of spending to buy specific technologies should have been implemented, rather than abstract spending on tech.

Im pretty sure das has done this, or come close to it, with AFSNES, at least in the early-post-pre-NES era. I know I've got about 70 nations in DaftNES2 right now, many of which only require a moment or two of attention when it comes to updating.

The Fantasy Advanced Start (Knights) is probably my favorite, but the few LifeNESes were awesome enough to warrant my crying for their return.

Ultimately anything you do too much gets stale, so things need to get changed up occasionally. Fantasy in space for example, is a fun change every once in a while, but not my favorite since I wouldn't want every game to be that way.

Fresh starts and historical in any age are my favourite. However, I'd love to see a Modern Fantasy NES! (Magic + Tanks = PWNED!)

I've only been in two so far (both modded by Immaculate), but I've been invited to more that I passed on for one reason: I really like rules, buildsets and multi-page spreadsheets. If its all diplo and imagination, count me out. If I get to dive into a stat-system and find the little exploits, I'm in heaven.

Oh, and Fantasy Fresh Start is my vote.
