Whatever. I still feel it's foolish to be afraid of ghetto people. I've had ghetto friends and acquaintances and their normally really nice and outgoing people. Well, at least that's been my experience.

If they had guns I didn't know it - it's not exactly something you advertise. They've had knives before, though, and I know people who are in a gang. One of my best friends of all time wasn't in a gang, but her family was protected by one. Guns, shmuns, it's not like they'd use them on you unless you were being a total dumbass. But, yeah, I love my ghetto friends.

I suppose it isn't irrational, but it still seems kinda dumb. Obviously the guy that was shot was shot for a reason, and why would gangsters be concerned with gunning down a nice fellow like you? Your friends and family would call the cops, of course, and even if the shotters didn't get caught it would be way to much trouble than it's worth.
