Anyway, I would like to join as the Alliance (Federation preferably), but I do want to ask, what era/AU is this set in? Because this does not look familiar to me at all.

You will be representing the Federation (as well as every other Alliance member ;)).

The setting for this game in the Star Trek universe timeline is the start of The General War.

From the Wikipedia article:

"In August Y168, the new war came. First the Lyrans and Klingons attack the Kzinti Hegemony, then the Hydrans attack them, in the understanding that they are the next target of the Lyran-Klingon Coalition. The Hydran capital falls (again), the Coalition assaults the Kzinti homeworld, and the Federation starts preparing to intervene on behalf of the Kzintis."

Any ideas on how long it takes to receive 'Private Message' capability?

I looked on the FAQ page for details, but I saw no timeline for activation of that feature.

I have made several posts to up my message count (26 so far). Other than waiting I have
no idea on what else to do. :cry:

FRIGATES!:stupid:
I forgot about the frigates.

In the optional ‘Ship Types’ rule section, I neglected to include the class with the largest number of ships in the Quadrant navies.

I fixed that by updating the optional rules to incorporate frigates.

While it is still an optional rule, I want the players to have the best information on what invoking it entails.
 
While waiting for my 'PM' capability, added an additional optional rule. As alway, unless all the players agree to use it, it does not go into effect.

Focused Production -
Requires activation of the ‘Ship Types’ optional Rule.
Players guide national production, allowing concentration on specific types at the expense of others.

The base rule keeps the players from having spend time managing production, and I hope this allows control at a minimum cost in time invested.

Perhaps we will see, provided the other players concur.

On a side note, I just checked, and still do not have PM functionality. :cry:
If I had thought of that, I would have waited posting the game till after I acquired that capability. :yup:

Oh well, lessons learned. :rockon:

New Optional Rule:

Veteran Commanders -
Players assign superior leaders to ships; Flotillas and Fleets to increase their side’s combat capabilities

The rule is in the part three of the rules section.
