Okay heres the deal..
I installed the latest update to civ 4 after spending god knows how long getting it running okay on the last update AND the final rls.
i was running the first patch with catalyst 4.12 catalyst drivers and game.xp to speed up the windows setts.
All worked fine till i patched.
Now im getting random crashes because of memory, also i get blue screen crash with no text just a blue screen (this being the worst), I get wierd gfx errors when diplo screen comes up it kindah makes it look all brown on the map, And the game seems to load and make AI moves alot slower.
Ive tryed installing catalyst 5.13 and this just makes it slower and crashes more frequent.
Also tryed to backup the original setts game.xp changed, to no effect.
Also on a side note when i first updated i was on a custom earth map and the first move i made after the upgrade was a stack attack against an egyptian city with a bunch of about 10 choppers (lots of which had been promoted and upgraded) and i managed to cap the city.
All of this bar the latter makes the game increadibly frustrating to play.
I know lots of ppl are having problems too so posts like "yeah you should see my problems mate" wont help.
So anyone thats found some way of fixing these issues plz post.

My sys is a:
ASUS A7N8X nforce
Athlon 2500+ Barton (factory setts)
1024 MB Corsair DDR 400
1 ATI radeon 9700 pro 128MB
2x 120GB HDD (Secondary with a 50/50 partition)
Win xp service pack 2 (all is up to date.)
DX9.0c
