FF 0.43 Bug Thread

Yep - that's a bug in the dll. The Werewolf problem you mention is part of it. While I'm blissfully ignorant about the SDK here's a python-based work-around for Reborn combat spawning.

Thanks! Though I shudder at trying to do these sort of changes considering I don't have any coding skill.

BTW, I take it FF patches and the like have stopped due to trying to bring everything up to the new FfH-2 standard? it seems Kael is patching things so fast, I can't see how you all can keep up with him in trying to keep your update in line with his patches. :p

It isn't anything to do with Kael's changes, but rather with trying to make our own changes stable enough we are comfortable releasing it to the public. Right now it is fairly common to get a crash at the 200-300 turns range (other times it blissfully goes a full 900 or so without complaint)

The problem is also that the CtD is one that can be bypassed by loading an AutoSave (which is good news for players, but bad news for diagnostic purposes). If it wasn't quite so frequent in some games, I'd be comfortable with a release, but in games where it occurs, I've seen it as often as once every 10 or so turns after a while (we seem to be able to reach Turn 200 or so with little issue, but it gets steadily more frequent from there).

Considering the state of so many games I've seen reviewed in PC Gamer, I don't think too many of us are going to complain that you folks are trying to release a game that works. :goodjob: Oh sure we may grumble into our beer about the wait...but I think gamers who aren't complaining about something aren't truly happy. :D

One question/request: I find it hard to see marshes; is there any way they might be made a slightly different color? For the most part they tend to blend in with grasslands.

Plus, will activating the Blue Marble terrain trash the game?

Won't trash it, but there aren't any Blue Marble specific versions of the Wetlands.

In the not too distant future, I want to merge Wetlands and Marsh to be the same terrain type, so I'll make sure they're distinctive at that point...

you could try releasing a beta version, maybe then people will be able to help you guys sort out the cause of the CTDs ;)

oh, and it would be awesome to have a nice changelog to see what's being added so far and discussing it :)

A change log shouldn't be too difficult to provide this time. With the SVN we are using now for version control everybody involved in developing Fall Further has to document his changes anyway. Vehem are you going to make the post anytime soon? (as usual) :)

I probably should - then we can all stop being cryptic when mentioning the new features publicly :D Might take a little while to compile - we have 175 revisions committed to the SVN since Ice was released, with the merging process accounting for only about the first dozen or so (plus additional changes that had been implemented pre-Ice).

It'll take an hour to read the changelog, so I can't imagine how long it'll take to compile :p But at least then I can update the ModModders thread with all the code additions we've made (been holding off so that people don't get spoilers for free ;p)

I'll be a jerk and tell you guys that if I DID make updates to the ModModders guide, the majority of the new fields are in HandicapInfos. :ninja:

Oh, and since I've been dying to say so in the threads on it: You'll love what we did with Enraged ;)

In that case, please, please release it NOW. :)

Frankly, I'm not sure what is going on with FFH2 and Crazed/Enraged. There's been very little feedback from the mod developers there. Hopefully, they are working on something, especially with regards to AC 90. I'm at AC 67 in my FFH game now and will likely shut it down when it hits AC 90.

Anyway, do what you think best, but I think you have a wide, appreciative audience waiting in anticipation. :)

In response, I threaten to add a Promotion a day - placed somewhere in PromotionInfos at random, unalphabetized - until some documentation is released.

I'm also curious about how many Promotions have been added. I lost count and am afraid to re-install 043. (Don't want a repeat of the editing-the-wrong-*******-directory incident, which almost made me bite off a thumb.)

Tehehehe... Hamster slaying, +40% vs Hamsters...

XD That said. I cant wait. Especially since current ver 43 cant be multiplayed...

When patch f was first released, there was a talk about a quickfix for something that went wrong with the Scions...I haven't seen such a quickfix up to now, have I missed something? If yes, please tell me what I got wrong.

Do you remember what the fix was for? There's fixes posted for the "True Pilgrim" add-to-city bug (purely Scions) and a work-around for the getting-units-from-combat bug (a general bug - the fix is only for the Scions priests/Reborn problem).

Where can I get these fixes? Is it possible to be added to the first post, so that they are not lost in the thread?

:badcomp:

It is impossible to win a game with world conquest. Late game when there is
lots of war, hell is spreading and things start getting really interesting I get
"Bad allocation" error every turn. And that is with lowest graphic settings.

What kind of computer do you need to play huge map, and finish the game? :dunno:

I should have done something like that - didn't realize how long it'd be 'till another patch. :)

I've added them to the first post of the Scions Documentation thread and bumped the thread.

Just cleared a jungle building a plantation on a Deep Jungle/Plains (The result of scorching a deep jungle/marsh)... As mazatl. Which, was highly lame.
(additonaly, I can repeate this on jungle/plains)

Additonaly, the jungle on the mount kalshek, doesnt turn into a deep jungle.
