um dont know what to say here lol

Seems you have found the answer yourself.

The public Beta of Fall from Heaven II will be released at May, 19th. And be assured there will be much things to balance and maybe one or two bugs to find ...

...and so I took over leadership of our people, to guide them through the difficult times ahead.
We discovered the lore of Sorcery, and Bambur joined our cause. So far he has not been used, though, I prefer to let him stay home and train for a while first.

Our conjuror and his bodyguards approached Coombe View. As they got closer to the city, the Conjuror suddenly signaled the bodyguards to stop, and sat down on the ground. He painted a circle in the sand, arose and spoke omnious words over it. A horrid being appeared, and he sent it to attack the city:

It damaged the defenders, but did not kill them. Another Nightmare with help from the bodyguards did the trick, even though our Thane was also killed:

Our dwarven soldiers held the city, while our brave conjuror headed eastwards, as we had spotted barbarian activity there, too. a single Nightmare was enough to take the city, and the Luchuirp empire has now gone from 2 to 4 cities in the space of a few years. Not too small an achievement, if I do say so myself.

Back home, we continue to train Adepts. We have discovered the arts of Construction, so we might start making some catapults soon. I have asked our sages to research Mathematics, hopefully followed by currency, so we can use our huge gold reserves to pay the Elohim for attacking Perpentach alongside us.

The first years were rather uneventfull until another barbarian City was spottet. Bambur a Mage and some Apprentices went out to capture it. Unforunately a stron Barbarian, he named himself the Barbarian King held the city. So the mage threw fireball after fireball at the defenders and after some years of siege the Barbarian King wanted revenge. He attacked feriously but Bambur was stronger and as a price he captured teh Axe of the Barbarian King.

The city was taken some hours later as only spearmen were left to defend it.

In our libraries the Scribes found ancient texts that spoke of an Metal even harder than Copper but unfortunately no source of this metal was near our cities.

They then went to studie the knowledge that in the far future shall allow them to press their own golden coins.
During the following years troops were moved to our eastern Cities as the borders of the Elhoim and the Amurites, who both did not like Perpentach would keep us save when we finally attack him. But is seems its almost time to do this as he seems to plan a war of himself (he adopted nationhood and conquest).
So a plan was drawn and the troops were arranged that should allow us to take one of his cities within the year and press him hard in the near future.

So i hope the man that will rule after me will be a great General. Use the arcane Powers wisely and do not forget to build some catapults when the Siege workshop is done. And do not forget the Adept that will turn the eastern desert into bloomin plains.

I don't think I'm the General for this job! That is an impressive gameplan. Gulp.

So I get to declare war after wiping up some barbs. In 15 turns I can't muck it up too much!

edit - From the screenie I thought all of our land was barb! Now I see I only need to go after the psycho!

Due to technical reasons we have to stop the game at this point.

Some severe errors during summoning creatures and fireballs occur, that could not be solved without leading to incompabitilies with the savegame. We could continue without using those summoned creatures but it would not be really funny, and the errors may occure as soon the AI starts using summoners. All this is of course not entirely unexpectet as we play here with an alpha version.

Lurker comment... I noticed the Conjurer can summon different types of creatures. Is the only difference between them their strength? Wouldn't that eventually mean that he would only summon the strongest creature?

Or maybe some creatures stay for longer or have abilities that are relevant to a certain situation?

Looks like a lot of fun! and I also have a lot to learn about the game in general:)

The creatures do differ in strength and in abilities. For example the Chaos Marauder is relatively strong but there is a chance that he will become barbarian and turn against you.
The Nightmare has the fear ability so some units will not attack him as they fear its powers.
The Treant is ratehr strong but can only be summoned in forests. And so on. So you always have some choices to make. Especially if you start with a sphere promoting your summoners to summon a special creature costs you less, so you can invest in combat promotions that make your summons even stronger.

Basically there are two tiers of summoned creatures, the first accessed by conjurors and the second by the more powerful Summoners. But various spell spheres provide many different summons, which mainly differ because of their special abilities. For instance, the Chaos Marauder is the most powerful first tier summon, but it has a catch - there's a chance that it will go on a rampage and kill your own units.

Thanks for the information. I am literally sitting here drooling impatiently for my opportunity to try it out.

Good to hear. Now Kael can double our salary.

Seriously - you deserve a salary! When I make my first million and want to start my own gaming company - I'll be sure to look you guys up!

I don't know about that... just curious - where are you guys from? How old? Do you all know each other from before this project?

Just a group of guys from around the world who hadn't met before getting together to work on this project. I was lucky that Fall from Heaven got popular early so I had the chance to recruit this team before the other mods really got going. So I cherry picked the best artists, idea guys, writers and programmer I could find.

Thats not to say that there aren't tons of other incrediably talented folks here working on other projects. But I think the art, design, writing and code being produced for FfH2 is as good, if not better, than what Firaxis (through which all mods are possible) has created.
