FfH trivia game thread

Correct. (Well, except I believe it was actually the Books of Laroth. Varn brought multiple volumes out of the Shadowed Vale with him.)

What was Nyx?

Nyx was the world which Agares created after the power of creation was stripped from the Angels. He kept them in the dark about there being any Divinity but himself. After The One seperated Heaven from Creation, Agares himself completely demolished Nyx and all that was in it, leaving the remains to become the Deepest of Erebus' Hells.

Doesn't seem to have any connection to the unit Nyxkin though...

You are correct, your turn.

How many different Unique Units can a single Unit manage to be in the course of existence? (From the time it is built, through each Upgrade or Spell Transformation, and can include going beyond death into any kind of in-game afterlife).

UU can be for a Religion or a Civilization. Even the massively shared Swordsman is allowed to count as a UU, but that doesn't mean it is neccessarily used.

You can either guess a number, in which case if you guess higher than the one I think is the most you lose, or you can write out the path of upgrades which would be followed, in which case if you found one which can do more than mine you still win ;) Oh, and main mod only, I'm not completely familiar with all of Vehem's units yet, and Magister's adaptation of Lich and Drown make for far too many combinations :p

EDIT: Just realized there is at least one possible infinite loop. So I'll say that you can only count each UU once (so upgrading a slave to a Lunatic, getting it captured as a slave, then re-upgrading to a Lunatic and getting captured.... That only counts as 2, no matter how many times you repeat it on the poor, unfortunate, crazy soul).

does that include all the promotions that melee units go through?

I would say at least... 8

, and Magister's adaptation of Lich and Drown make for far too many combinations :p

Don't forget one of my favorite (probably way overpowered) changes in my next version: any Grigori unit with the Hero promotion can cast "And Now For Something Completely Different," which turns it back into an adventurer and lets you pick a new career, while keeping its level and promotions (complete with spells, etc). One possible problem here is that they still get free promotions when they upgrade to arcane units, so you can keep promotion them without ever needing to level them up.

I'll probably simplify Lichdom in the new version, so it won't actually let more units cast it (although I might make it a Death II-Metamagic II cross-sphere spell). Liches, however, will be much stronger, immortal, limit 1 national units.

I am letting all living melee (and maybe archer and recon) units be drowned, but I don't think I'll let Drowns upgrade to anything anymore (since they don't seem to be keeping the extra strength). Stygian Guards will have water walking too, probably restricted to coast. (I'm also debating having 2 versions of water walking, one of which the water walking spell(s) would grant to units on the same stack, but which would random;y wear off., and the other one just for OO UUs)

Freak-> Acrobat -> Harlequin -> Courtesan
Bloodpet -> Moroi -> Vampire -> Vampire Lord/Brujah
Manes -> Swordsman -> Sect of Flies -> Balor
Lightbringer -> Any Tier 1 Priest -> Same Religion Tier 2 Priest -> Same Religion Tier 3 Priest

There are a few more with 4, but I couldn't think of any above it.

GhostQ - you could combine:
Bloodpet -> Moroi -> Vampire -> Vampire Lord/Brujah -death + resurrection-> Manes -> Swordsman -> Sect of Flies -> Balor

Freak-> Acrobat -> Harlequin -> Courtesan

If I may...

Freak -> Acrobat -> Taskmaster -> Courtesant -> Slave (captured and recaptured) -> Swordsman (arena) -> Slave (captured again) -> Lunatic (OO Asylum) -> msb45's afterlife program

How about:

Freak -> Acrobat -> Taskmaster -> Courtesan -> Slave (captured and recaptured) -> Warrior (arena) -> Swordsman -> Champion (mime for Balseraphs, if gifted or captured it could be any champion UU) -> Paladin -> Slave (captured again) -> Warrior (arena) -> Swordsman -> Champion( repeating this step for all champion UUs) -> Phalanx -> Slave (captured again) -> Warrior (arena) -> Archer -> Longbowman (Firebow if captured by/gifted to Amurites) -> Crossbowmen (/Flurry if given to or captured by the Ljosalfar) -> Slave (captured again) -> Lunatic (OO Asylum) -> Berserker(/Bruja if captured by/gifted to the Calabim) -> manes -> Imp -> mage -> Archmage -> Lich

Well, I hadn't quite anticipated a loop being used Non-infinitely so well as Magister had, would have outlawed gifting if I thought about it. Mewtarthio had his exactly what I was thinking of though, except without the Swordsman from Slave since you cover Swordsman with the Infernal track.

So since Magister gets it for numbers, and if he doesn't have a question he'd like to ask then it is Mewtartio's for thinking like me :)

I'll just give it to Mewtartio I think, since I'm pretty busy and would rather keep the game moving.
