FfH2 0.16 Bug Thread

CustomAssets under My Games/Civ 4? Didn't work. FfH should be installed in the Mod directory of C:/Program Files/Firaxis/Civ/Mods, right? The duplicate directory that's installed by default under My Games has always confused me, not sure what the purpose is. Thanks, Kael.

We can't get simultaneous moves to work in our 7 player pitboss game. Has anyone played ffh with pitboss and simultaneous moves?

When I launch and select simultaneous moves it just works as turnbased game, this makes mp games pretty annoying if there's no fix to it.

thanks for the help

Anyway, not really a bug I guess, but is it possible the AI has been made TOO eager to attack hidden nationality units? I've got a Kuriotate Kythra Kyriel running around in my empire who is hellbent on attacking each hidden nationality in sight, despite Kythra's victory odds being inexistant. Eg here a screenie of Kythra Kyriel just before suiciding himself on my HN tigers.

Any comment on this? In another game scouts are eager to suicide themselves on my Hill Giants walking in my territory, while it would make more sense to run away as far as possible. Don't they take victory odds into account?

The only AI change in regard to HN is just that the AI views them as enemies regardless of their owner (intercept in PUF_isEnemy). I havent messed with the odds.

But HN will probably stay as it is until "Shadow". Thats the phase it was speced for (sneaky Loki got it into "Light" in his naval redesign). But it will be rewritten entirely in "Shadow" into a more complete and game impacting feature.

this will be one of the things we have an option to turn off, right?

I could probably do that if there was a significant desire.

What is HN?

I don't understand why I have -1 gold per turn but I have nothing it is being spent on.
Do you have an obelisk? That'll give you -1 gold...

You can attack HN units of other players on your team. Especially bad since you can summon tigers to use as free XP farms, with little risk of losing any units. This could problably be abused even with just open borders, find some far away place to summon tigers on, gift them to the other civ and kill them.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I haven't figured out how do a thread search.

There is a bug with the capture mechanic and how it interacts with immortal units. In one game I was able to capture Losha Valas (who had immortality) with my Inquisitor. However another copy still respawned back at the Calabim captial. Now there are two Loshas running around (and I was trying to capture her specifically with the hope it would prevent her respawning).

Eventually by the time I destroyed their capital, I had three Loshas under my control .

You cheater. ;)

Honestly thats a good catch. I'll fix it in "Fire" so immortals dont respawn if captured.

Your right, I'll remove the stable requirement for horses because we have some other non-horse mounted units coming anyway.

Maybe it would make more sense to change the horse mounted units to have a requirement of horses, rather than have it a requirement of the building. Stables to keep mounts while training make sense, whether the mounts are horses, deer, wolves, bears, griffins, etc...

They already require horses. The reason the requirement was placed on the building too was to help the ai realize that it shouldnt build it if it didnt have horses. But that reason doesnt make much sense anymore with all of the different mount types.

Something is odd about the way the AI researches. On some turns, the AI is researching NOTHING at all. I have a screenshot attached of a game I was letting the AI autoplay using cheat mode to see what was going on when I saw someone researching nothing. For 25 turns the AI was researching nothing. I'm not sure if this would cause a problem but it sure seems weird.

I can't imagine this hasn't come up yet, but I couldn't find any mention of it in a thread search.

In my last game, I noticed several instances of units with Marksman attacking naval units in cities. I assume this is unintentional.

Yesterday, Basium somehow managed to create two Baron Duin Halfmorn simultaneously in the same city. The message came up twice consecutively in the alerts at the beginning of the turn, and I verified the two Barons with Worldbuilder.

I saved screen captures, but I'm not sure that this would help.

I've noticed that the Core of the Subtle doesn't get increased build speed with stone. As it functions as an early wonder similar to the pyramids, I'm not sure if this is intended or not.
