FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

I can't find Host of the Einherjar anywhere in the world editor's units. As it is there's nothing between the Horsemen (Wolf Rider) and Hunter (Acrobat).

It is located between the Eidolon and the Elephant units.

World Editor tends not to be properly Alphabetized. It is based off the names they are referenced to in XML (and class first, then Type I think), not the display names. In this case it is "Einherjar" without any "Host" so look in the E section.

Patch 'g'. Standard settings. Playing Amurites for first time in months.

I founded the Runes and built Bambur.
He behaved normally.

Then I had a heroes quest event and Bambur successfully retrieved a Jade Statue. Not sure what this is supposed to do but I coudn't see it, or any effects of it, on Bambur or in any of my cities.

Shortly after I declared war on my neighbour and went to attack with Bambur. He can't attack, nor does he seem to be able to use roads.

Save game:

The game moves on and I capture some mana nodes. The nodes appear intact but don't contribute mana. See the life node just below Bryn doesn't show up in the nodes list top left. If I move some mages onto it, I can rebuild it as any node of my choice and it does work then.

Moving on I have almost eliminated Varn Gossan (sp?). I capture and automatically raze a size one city without defenders. I get an message saying that "some of your units have gone on to serve the Mercurians in the afterlife". None of mine died. None of Varn's died either since the city wasn't defended.

Moving on to some things which might be features rather than bugs:

I created Govanon. He trained a ranger to use the Fire 1 spell (scorch?) and Body 1 (haste). I upgraded the ranger to a Druid. The druid can now learn fire 2 and fire 3 spells for both Divine and Sorcery. So I have a druid casting Meteor Swarms! With planning, could I have 3 Archmages, 3 Liches, 3 Druids and Govanon all with Meteor Swarms?

On a related theme, one of my Archmages has Body 3 (Stoneskin). This seems to work on just the caster now rather than the stack. Is this a change I missed, or a bug? Seems to make it pretty weak if just a change, since Archmages don't usually go round attacking things in person ;-)
I haven't tried yet but I guess my Ranger>Druid could eventually learn Stoneskin, which would get some use.

Great mod.

Confirming building centaur archer or charger breaks when you try to build them in city. Upgrading works fine. Tracked error down to CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml

ART_DEF_UNIT_CENTAUR_ARCHER and ART_DEF_UNIT_CENTAUR_CHARGER

<Button>,Art/Interface/Buttons/Units/Centaur Charger.dds</Button>

extra comma corrected to and doesnt crash _.

<Button>Art/Interface/Buttons/Units/Centaur Charger.dds</Button>

ART_DEF_UNIT_CENTAUR_ARCHER, Fixing this allows me to build them.

Thanks, I'll fix it in the main code.

@Just a Mo:

Bambur is definitly broken in your save game. I would be curious to see what happened to him that caused him to get all the weird attributes he has. Im going to play with your save game a bit and see if I can track it down.

I believe your other two issues are acting as desired. In the first thats a raw mana node with a life mana improvement on it. You will have to rebuild a new improvement on it to turn it from raw mana into life mana (or whatever type you select). For your third issues razing cities sends units into the mercurian and infernal armies just like killing units.

Weird attributes are often due to granting a promotion that does not exist. Problably PROMOTION_JADE_RUNE (CvRandomEventInterface.py) which is actually PROMOTION_JADE_TORC (CIV4PromotionInfos.xml). (I don't have g installed so perhaps it's something else, but I doubt it.)

Great people points don't scale with speed. It cost 100 gp for the first on quick 200 for the second then 300 etc. on quick it costs 67 for the first 167 for the second 267 for the third etc. This is obviously a bug and should be easy to fix... It should cost 67 134 201 etc. I assume this is the same on the slower speeds except opposite.

Also due to the way culture works and scale with speed kuriouates world spell should probably scale as well, though this isn't actually directly a bug.

Lol if you get both govannon and druids you deserve to do whatever you want as that require basically the whole tech three and you should be able to kill everyone with just meteor archmages anyways...

Hi
In my recent game I get an game crash every 1-5 turns...
The game is almost over so there are a lot units but that shouldn't crash the game that often. If it helps here is a savegame

One of my cities seems unable to grow beyond population 4, despite having plenty of food. I am going to starve it on purpose to see if I can get her out of the loop. I attach a savegame. Patch g.

Also when Summoners upgrade to Eater of Dreams they get TWO new promotions. I think it also happened when upgrading adepts to summoners. Most undercouncil options (gambling ring, smuggling port) don't appear to do anything, and others work only at the beginning (develop secret codes: it gives the first one or two sages, then it stops working for some reason). It's in the same save.

Demonic Citizens unique building issue (patch g):

When capturing other civ's cities, this building is not added to the captured city (which is understandable, given they aren't demons). However, when I lost one of my own cities - settled by the infernal myself - I lost the demonic citizens building as well. I still had the obsidian gate which infernals get by default.

Presumably the demonic citizens building is getting destroyed by the same code that prevents other civs getting things like the dwarven vault, though I'm not sure if the issue repeats itself with dwarven vaults.

This is also a tangental issue with the AV holy city. Whether capturing it manually or using Hyborem's Whisper, the city does not get the UB and suffers a great deal of unhappiness and unhealthiness.

Hmm, in 30g I have a pagan temple, and an overlords temple and I have incense hooked up, but I'm not getting any happy bonuses from the incense in my cities.

It isn't recognizing my reagents either.

Is there some problem with plantations in g? For reference I'm playing the Calabim and using Knight's map.

Oops, didn't notice the additional tech requirements.... nevermind...

You know, I think that would actually work if you had more than one city. Imagine all those Calabim cattle escaping from their vampire overlords, wandering the countryside, then finally entering a different Calabim city, not knowing the difference!

...And when I say "funny," I mean "truly, horribly disturbing."

Speaking of this event, I just got it (~5 times in my capital) in a game as the Luchiurp. There are no Calabim cities on my continent, and I can be reasonably certain that the Calabim don't even exist in the game (I don't have the entire world mapped out, but I don't think Fractal maps can put civs on islands small enough to hide them from me).

While I'm on the subject of events in my current Luchiurp game, I got the popup about Capria's military discipline in bed out of the blue (part of the humorously-titled "EVENT_PRON" series). I've looked at the XML files, and it appears that there was supposed to be an earlier event in which she propositions me that I never got.

Also, why no "EVENT_PRON" series for male leaders? I mean, besides Cardith Lorda (you sick bastard!), Sabathiel (technically not present), Hyborem (that would be a very bad idea), Cassiel (would a fallen angel be celibate?), Basium (see above), and Sandalphon (incapable of feeling such human sensations).

FfH caught a nasty bug that was introduced to regular BtS by patch 3.13: On the resource trade screen, the AI doesn't red out resources it already has. This gives the illusion that it's gouging the dogshit out of you.

Explanation of the bug:

Easy enough for anyone lucky enough to be reading this post to fix themselves, but for the benefit of those who aren't, you should implement this, Kael.

I'm playing my game with the option that doubles the amount of events for the first time. Strangely, I am seeing a lot LESS events both for myself and the other civs, EXCEPT...

I have had the Healing Salve event at least two dozen times! It seems like every 3-4 wounded units, the event pops up.

Seems like a bit much to me.

Calabim's govenours manor don't give hammers for unhappy pop sometimes. No idea what causes it but i don't have a save handy. In my first game as calabim it didn't work but in the second it did work. Weird.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature as it is the first time I am the sole member of the Undercouncil.

I have passed all the resolutions.

The popup keeps appearing but if I select again, for example, paying for the Sage or Nightwatch, nothing happens.

Once all the resolutions are passed, what, if anything happens? Should the popup go away? Can I leave the Undercouncil, return, and pass everything allover again?

Thanks.
