FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

Patch H, consistently getting
Spoiler :
pact.JPG
when I research Infernal Pact, and regardless of whether I stay my current civ or become the Infernals, it CTDs the next turn unless I delete the Infernals in the WB.

Didn't get a pic of it, but I also got a C++ error from a random event involving termites, followed by a CTD when I tried to end the turn.

Thats really odd, Im not sure what to make of it. Your game is complaining that the function "changePlotCounter" doesnt exist (or is setup differently than the gamne suspects). It works fine for me.

Post the save and I'll check it out.

Maybe not a bug, but something seems fishy...

My first time playing as Cassiel. I had 6 cities.

Neighbor, Kandros Fir, sent 6 Thanes of Kilmorph into my territory and each one was successful FIRST TRY in spreading ROK to my cities.

So much for religion not spreading to Grigori easily.

Of course, as a neophyte Grigori player I cannot see any good of having a religion spread to my cities (or founding Empyrean or Council of Esus, which I did). You cannot have a state religion. You cannot build temples ... but you can build the special holy building.

Kandros Fir gets a benefit, of course, but I just thought it strange that he was able to spread ROK so easily.

I'm pretty sure that in the Civ IV engine, a missionary always suceeds in spreading the religion to a city if no other cities are there. So, if there weren't other religions in the city, and I'm understanding the situation, this result seems to be fairly logical.

Best wishes,

Breunor

Patch "F":
- ships with hidden nationality unit on board (eg nightwatch) will displace entire city garisson when entering with open borders
- limited quantity summons (eg treant or gardian vines): an unlimited number can be gifted. Such summons should not be giftable and should not cost maintenance or war wariness

Patch H

I'm getting an error about civ not being able to compress my save games, besides the popup it doesn't seem like it's doing anything else.

Playing a game as Falamar with Hannah the Irin also in it, and when I gifted her Message From the Deep I got a zealot as well.

Not sure if this is a bug -- the kraken unit has City raider as an available promotion, but I don't think Kraken can attack targets on land.

Best wishes,

Breunor

Yeah, that is because it is unitcombat_beast, and so has the same promotions available to it as are available to the dragons, the big apes, and a couple summons.

Probably because the Goblin is a UU (different stats), while the Warrior & Settler are just racial skins (same actual unit as a Warrior & Settler, but the Orc promotion makes them appear as an Orcish version)

Yeah, xienwolf is correct. its deeper than nmost want to know but the short part of the story is that the problem is only when the unit model is applied from a racial promotion. If the unit is a UU, or the model is from a civilization unit art definition it works fine.

The Clan doesnt apply their orc look as a civilization unit art definition because then if they captured a warrior it would look like an orc warrior even if it wasnt an orc. So I have to apply the model descriptions for the races through a promotion, which doesnt work with that unit pane.

One thing I've found very annoying with 30 is that fear makes Acheron impossible to kill. I tried casting Valor but it seems to do nothing. My hero who had 99% chance to win just won't attack due to fear.

Is there a way to change this on the xml?

The spell you want is Courage.

Yes, if you take the Dragon promotion away from Acheron in either the XML or just with the worldbuilder he will lose that ability.

Ahh, thanks Magister, that makes sense. I used kraken's for the first time; pretty tough, huh? :)

Logical, Breunor, yes, with every other civ, but not the Grigori who are agnostic. One of the characteristics of the civ, if I am not mistaken, is that religions are not easy to spread to the cities of the Grigori.

In my example, not only was it easy, it spread at the 100% rate first time tried. I normally don't have that much success with other civs. :)

Maybe I am missing something here, but I just thought religions shouldn't spread to Grigori cities so easily.

Thanks for your comment.

Not sure about this, but my assumption was that the Grigori couldn't USE religions, but that they didn't alter the actual probabilities that the religions spread. So I thought hte missionaries would work as they usually do, but they don't really help the Grigori.

Best wishes,

Bbreunor

I was under the impression that the Grigori's ability to slow religious spread (it is listed as one of their abilities) only applies to natural spread, not to forced spread via missionaries.

What's up with the Falamar events? I just got Sheelba yelling "Have you no standards?" at me and it didn't do anything?

in one of my games on Noble I had founded most of the religions and built the shrines when I finally discovered Astronomy they spread very fast to the Grigori on the neighbouring Continent

I see better now, thank you for the explanation^^I was just asking for my personnal education:)

I dont know if it was mentioned before but seems Guild of Nine is bugged.
It tells that certain units will be given with some promotions, but in fact there is no promotions given.

Example :
I have offer for :
1. champion, no promotions _> result: champion no promotions
2. assasin, hidden nationality -> result: assasin, no additional promotions

other offer had adept with water I, when accepted adept had not water I, it was just plain adept like one after building with no starting XP.
