FfH2 0.31 Bug Thread

I don't recall one, but I'm not really sure. I'm too busy to play again to test it (I was really to busy to play that time too)

This is the 4th game I've started and I have yet to get all the way though to the end on any... Love this mod but getting very frustrated. Just hit end turn and it CtD'.

Thanks!

While making my poor PC cry, it didn't crash.

There was a city on a mana node though, which is/should be a bug :p

I don't pretend to have closely followed all that went on in 30+ pages (I admit, they're better than me :p), but...

1) Had an event proposing to hire Dwarf mercenaries. To the left of the screen, looking at the champion unit, there was no pic of the unit but a red circle.

2) I signed a Permanent Alliance with the Elohim - but why were my units expelled from their territory?

I want to apologize for my bugging about that possible bug ;) . I reinstalled the MOD with patch e and it plays fine now. Sorry if I caused any inconvenience... :)

Imhotep

But I would have got notice of that, right? Besides, my units were able to reenter immediately after being thrown out.

It may just be the mechanism of the spell, I haven't gotten that spell yet (in the game I just played, I don't think the Elohim EVER activated thier worldspell, if they did, I didn't notice), so I can't confirm what you had. It's probably sort of like where someone was my vassal and I had no open borders with them, yet I could still enter thier territory at will. Unless that's also a bug. It's a little hard to tell whether what you described is a bug or not without knowing the coding behind it, for me at least.

think it's new(anyway, I'm 99% sure it wasn't in "d"):

- can't create lairs with bears(I've literally filled the outside borders with bears, none were able to create a lair - though anyway I"m 99% sure the initial one was 4 tiles away from any improvement so he should've been perfectly able to create one)

I think the unit has to be a certain level first though. I saw one in my previous game, so it does work. At least for barbarians, I don't know how to do it when the player owns the bear.

the bear should have a create lair spell... or had; the manual didn't say anything about level, said it has to be outside the cultural borders and 4 tiles away from any improvement...

Hey python gurus... I'm not sure why my kur2 game attached above worked for Yaotzin but not for me. However, through trial and error, I think I know the problem. When I delete the Bannor settler stack (and terrain) over near the mirror of the sun, my game continues just fine. Hope this helps...

Well, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not... It ran three more turns, then died. Sigh...

The problem is this doesn't really narrow down the problem, sadly. If that settler or whatever was using the RNG to decide where to go or whether to settle or whatever, it would then change all the numbers that the later units use, causing them to do something differently, thus probably avoiding whatever was actually causing the crash. It's why crashes are often replicable only if you repeat exactly what you did before.

yea, but given the size of that map, there are so many possibilities that it's very difficult to replicate exactly what caused since it could have been something the AI did and you don't even know what the AI is doing most of the time.

I met Cassiel a few seconds ago. Nothing wrong with that. However, looking around, I have found none of his units in my sight. I am not a member of either council. The only explanation I can find is that I found a HN privateer. I assume that's his, so finding a HN unit still triggers the diplomacy screen first time.

Diplomacy begine when his units can see you, not vics versa. It could be the Privateer, or an invisible unit, or a unit with a large line of sight (perhaps do to the Mirror of Heaven, perhaps sentry promotions, perhaps a bird) that is beyond your visual range
