FfH2 0.33 Bug Thread

Sounds like you activated Bare Map. It is a button above your mini-map, quite close to the end turn button I think. There is also a hotkey for it, but I cannot recall what it is right now.

That's it!
Thank you very much! What a stupid problem...cannot figure out how that damned button was activated though...well, nevermind!
:goodjob:
Again thank you, you saved my day!

The Nightwatch is the disciple. You can use it to spread the CoE.

In my last game I found CoE, but Nightwatch didn`t appeared :/ But I played with adwanced start and I payed for Deception.

That probably covered in the bug list under planned for .34. Units granted by techs that were bought in advanced start.

Orthus hibernating:

Early in a recent game, Orthus was created near a bear den at the edge of my empire. I was preserving the bear den to capture bears and create dancing bears in my new cities. Orthus the Sleepy stepped onto the bear den and hibernated for 40 turns instead of heading toward my cities. Needless to say, I was ready for him when he left the den. Barbarian warriors do this as well although I think only animal units should camp in dens.

The next turn (73) I get a random event for the govenor being assasinated, however there were no reward tool tips for the 4 choices. I was checking to see if this is just a random event for sotrytelling effect.
Thanks excellent mod

Not a bug. Your choice will have an effect on the city, but the effect of each choice will depend on the civics you're running.

I understand that part of random events however with this one there is no way of knowing 1.)what civic/religion/civ is required 2.)what are the risk or rewards.

The replies from memory were, 1.)appoint son of gov killed, 2.)appoint gardener who rescured son for his "quick thinking" 3.)let the people elect (assuming this gives happy +1 for 20 turns or so) 4.) I don;t remember

these conditions do not seems like they would require a certain religion or civ to be able to make the decision. Not too familiar with civics to know if, say... election option needs a democracy civ, Is there one?? lol

The last option is to let the church decide, which is good if you're running Theocracy. I think the election option is good for City States (and maybe Republic too), making the son leader is good for Aristocracy, and you can do anything if you're running God King because, hey, you're the god!

Totally unrelated to this: I was playing single player against the AI today, and I had both Tebryn and Jonas ask to buy Crafting off of me. Not unusual in itself, but this was in the mid-game around turn 300-400, and both of them were only a little behind me in score (around 1200 pts). I didn't have any religions turned off, so it can't be that bug with Runes/FoL.

Also, I was playing as Grigori in another game, and had the Torturing Prisoners come up for one of my unimproved Adventurers. However, the Reprimand the Commander option (-2XP) option wasn't available, despire the Adventurer having lots of XP.

Definitely a problem that has been noted before Robert. You might also find Orthus and other 'real' barbs guarding goodie huts rather than raging on the map. Conversely, it is not uncommon to see a Bear guarding a barb city.

I think the animals should be restricted to lair guard duty (as you said) and the other barbs should do all the raging stuff. I'm not sure what the mechanism is that allows the current occupant of the den to move on freezing the new arrival, but it should be fixed IMO.

Huge Fantasy Realm Map - not a single Graveyard was placed at game start. Plenty of goodie huts, but no Graveyards.

First time I ever saw that happen, and on a huge land map no less.

Patch "g" is linked in the first post. It won't break save games and fixes the following issues:

1. Fixed an issue with Flames graphics that can cause CtD's on Vista.
2. Fixed an issue that kept building creating spells from working.

very very good: just 2 fixes, but boy are these important, and it doesn't even break savegames! I'm impressed. great job :goodjob:

We are deep in 0.34 deisgn right now. I wouldn't normally release old patches right now (because Im not even working with this code anymore). But these are pretty major issues.

I have a bug to report, although it could be cosmetic:

Patch G still says "unreleased" on the first post, even though there is a link to it. :p

playing with patch e: dye seems way too clumpy. really, really clumpy actually. I counted no fewer than 21 (!) dyes all more or less next to my starting spot. looks kinda funny actually :D

Playing with .33 - patch g, although started the game with patch f...

One of my Grigori medics started with Veil religion. With his built in Chaneling III and Divine this made him quite a powerhouse. He can cast Ring of Flames and Summon Balor. Of course in my mind he is a secretly corrupted medic who scorns Cassiel and believes he has outsmarted him, worshiping the dark powers right under the godling's nose..

Ever since the the spell system change of 0.31 I've been pointing out that since Grigori Medics can start with a religion (there is a 20% that a unit without a religion to get any given religion in the city that builds it), and always start with Divine and Channeling 2 & 3 (the prereqs for Cure Disease and Heal, but also all high priest spells) they are probably the biggest exploit in the game. I've been suggesting that they loose these promotions and that Cure Disease and Heal be made to require the Medic II and III promotions. Kael has consistently ignored me on this issue, so I assume he must like this exploit.

If he doesn't want to change the prereqs, maybe making the Agnostic trait prevent the leader's units from getting a religion would be a good idea?

Just playing a game as the infernals, i noticed a small bug.
If u are at war with another civ and get one of their cities as tribute for making peace, this city wont have the demonic citizens, making it kinda useless, to accept any cities.
Of course there are also no extra buildings in it, but that is not so important.

Puppets can cast Lichdom. Not a lot of benefit, but since each new lich can create puppets themselves, and lichdom doesn't prevent spellcasting it means that Keely can create four liches that last for three turns. Even Perpentarch can benefit from four strength 7 summons each turn with just one death archmage.

edit:
I just realized the advanced exploit is deleting used liches (after attacking) so that the new puppets can become liches. Infinite strength 7 summons each turn!

Already reported in Post #697, but since Xienwolf apparently overlooked it and didn't add it to his awesome list, it's good to remind him :p
