FfH2 0.34 Bug Thread

.34d

The game crashed to desktop at random for several previous turns. Now it never makes it to the next turn without crashing.

No python errors.

Your save crashes for me as well. I'm running Vista with a retail copy of both Civ4 and BTS, not sure if that will help track down the problem.

In my last game I had the Seven Pines improvemont on top of a peak (Erebus map script) and it looked ugly.

LOL, you figure it should look epic... Like Mt. Olympus...

On three occasions I have recieved the "enraged" promotion from a lair. In all three cases my unit turned into a barbarian on the next turn. The promotion says a 3% chance of converting. Am I just having terrible luck or is the calculation working right?

Playing with patch D.

Received a Savant from a shipwreck, without the necessary tech. Ran him over to my capital and successfully founded Ashen Veil (with the holy city).

Foul

Yeah, its Vista Home Premium with a retail copy of Civ4 and BTS. I tried turning off UAC like the thread suggests towards the beginning but that doesn't help. Probably just another weird Vista problem.

My understanding from similar reports is that this is not a bug, it is intended that this can happen.

Best wishes,

Breunor

For some reason, I can't build a Vicar even though I have a temple of the Empyrean, I have the priesthood tech, for instance in the city Celo.

Best wishes,

Breunor

EDIT: Once again I have discovered that this is not a bug, I forgot (even though I founded the religion) to convert!

I assume this was fixed in patch B? Or was this not the issue? :)

Kael wanted you to be able to found the religions early. The issue here is the one I brought up; when the tech founding the religion was discoed after the religion was founded, it would let you choose another religion. When that religion's tech was founded, it would again give you a choice. This would continue until you were asked to pick a religion when none were available, which would cause a CtD.

Just desserts if you explore a lair that early.
Exploring lairs are supposed to involve risk, especially early game and especially if you leave your city empty.
No offense...

If that was aimed at me: it was turn 2 and my starting warrior was on the plot next to the city. The spider didn't spawn, then take the city. It spawned in the city, meaning automatic loss. I didn't even see the spider, just the message about it, as the game it faded to black the instant I pressed the explore-button.

While Deepening was still in effect I invaded Khazad and used Snowfall in conquering a couple cities, then built Temples of the Hand fairly immediately. After Deepening/Snowfall had worn off, quite a few of the plots around those cities became grassland/plains.

All of the cities pictured have Temple of the Hand.

Not sure what the problem is, but obviously there is one. :p

Arent spiders invisible though? Doesn't that mean that without a recon unit nearby you wouldnt see it?

That sounds correct, yes. And I did have my starting scout there too (as it was only turn 2). But it doesn't matter, as the defeat-message with the following fade-out (as my units were removed) happened instantly after exploring the lair.

If a unit from a lair had spawned next to my city, and taken the city the next turn, that would just have been me being careless. But spawning in the city plot itself seems a bit off.

umh, I don't think the spider spawned in the city plot itself. I think it spawned and immediately moved to the city tile.

I have the pause before end turn-option on, and didn't press end turn between exploring the lair and being defeated. Nor did I get the opportunity to do so, as I was instantly defeated. I haven't read about or experienced that any units have the ability to move during somebody elses turn, aside from retreats.

Patch d using Windows Vista 32bit. I get a crash to desktop one or two turns later. It always crashes when approaching Khazak city.
