FfH2 Bug Thread

The Altar victory condition is unwinnable in One City Challenge. For that matter, so is a Cultural victory. Altar is easy to fix: remove the national wonders limit! Cultural could perhaps be changed by having the One City have absurdly high cultural reqs for the win.
Altar should still be possible, so long as you don't build other national wonders, because each level removes the previous one once it's built (worldbuilder in all of them at once some time if you want to see why). I'm fairly certain the national wonders limit is supposed to be gone, because it's mentioned in one of the FFH-specific hints that show up in the loading screens. But for some reason it keeps sneaking back in. Twice this version (I don't remember which patches unfortunately) the limit has shown up without appearing in the changelog, then been gone with the next patch.

I did a OOC recently because I wanted my Sidar trophy. I had built other national wonders and finished the altar with no problem. I know this doesn't help but I just wanted to say something besides how I am so excited for the new Govannon model. The new models lately have been just amazing so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Well, I did have other national wonders built. However it happened, Altar victory in 0.40t OCC is broken.

I played with advanced start and found that I had no way to tell which civilisation I am before building my first city. I'd prefer to know that before I place my capital

I'm pretty sure that's to do with BtS.

As it is, there's 2 ways to get around this:

1) Your name will appear in the colour of your civ still, so learn the civs colours
OR
2) Press escape, click the "your details" button and it will tell you what civ you are.

Thats pretty weird, I havent changed anything in regards to national wonder limits or OCC in forever (probably since the BtS conversation in 0.24).

:hmm: I can find
MAX_NATIONAL_WONDERS_PER_CITY
as -1 in GlobalDefinesAlt.xml - did you set any
MAX_NATIONAL_WONDERS_PER_CITY_FOR_OCC
anywhere or does the game use the standard 5?

You can win a Culture Victory on a OCC by getting a Permanent Alliance.

You should also be able to mouse over the flag in the upper left corner of the interface. The mouse over info from the flag should tell you what civ you are, what leader you are using, and what your traits are.

The flag doesn't exist at the start in advanced start mode, that's what his problem was. :)

EDIT:

Attached file shows what I mean :P

Seems like this must be present in unmodded BTS but -

Open the save (patch t), open the diplo window, and mouse over Decius.
Highlight the human player, and Decius shows as Hannah's worst enemy.
Highlight Hannah, and Decius shows as Rhoanna's worst enemy.

But
a) We haven't met Rhoanna, so we don't know she exists
b) Maybe he is the worst enemy of both Rhoanna and Hannah, but in that case I thought it was supposed to list both of them no matter who you highlight.

In a recent game, the Illians completed the Draw ritual. After they had declared war on the entire world and disabled diplomacy, I used the ability of the Seven Pines to end all wars. Using the Seven Pines ended my war with the Illians and reenabled diplomacy effectively ending the effects of the Draw. Is this intended, or should the permanent war from the Draw be treated more like Permanenet War game option where events and game mechanics that end the war only bring peace until the end turn button is clicked and war is declared again the following turn?

Is it normal that the Heron Throne, which is a World Wonder, only affects the city it is built in?

Patch t - the pedia says the 2 culture from OO requires OO state religion, but I'm getting it in no SR (as Auric).

Yes, it is intended to only affect one city. It's a world wonder because it can only be built once.

I think that it should be a national wonder myself.

Or introduce the levee from BTS or something.

Letum Frigus - the PDF manual says "if you get there before any other player..." If normal AIs are supposed to "explore" it to disable the special bonus for the special civs, they don't seem to. Not even if it's in their city ring. So you can still go and do a pilgrimage and get the benefit, mid-game.

Not sure if the draw is the same as building the Tower of Mastery, but when I started the tower in my last game, and everyone declared war with me (actually they declared war when it was in my build queue, four items down, not at the point I actually started building) I went to the Seven Pines, and cause peace, then a turn or two later, started trading again. When the 10 turns of peace passed, everyone immediately went to war with me again (since I was still building the tower, I assume). Not sure if the same would occur with the Draw, since that is a one time thing.

Yeah, it's a difference in the coding.

The draw "mass war" function is only called upon its completion, whereas the tower of mastery is called whilst it's building. As you were still building it, they declared as soon as they were able.
