Yeha, played and sent on to finish turn #1!
(Sadly I couldn't send the save from inside Civ, because I got an authentication error every time - after I just created a new mail account for that... but oh well, if anyone knows of a workaround/bug it'd be great to share your wisdom with me)
I got the save, will play in a coupla hours.
What SMTP server are you using Dex ? You should use the one of the ISP of your internet connection.

Why not play now? It only takes 5min...
I use the SMTP server of my own domain. I don't think I'ver ever used email systems provided by my ISP, since they change and usually sucks anyway.

if you don't use the SMTP of your internet provider, then most probably you need authentication to send mails, so you should configure Civ with username and password, did you do that ?
