Fighter Interception Crash in PTW

Every time a fighter intercepts a bombing mission the game crashes. I get the error message,

"Civilization 3x has caused an error in
CIVILIZATION3X.EXE
Civilization3x will now close"

I am playing with a scenario I made where the interception percentages have been modified. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix? I have patch 1.04 installed.
