It's a well established that Feminism began as a way to equalize the sexes by removing the limitations placed on Women. As with an movement, extreme portions of it went beyond that to wanting to establish female dominance and superiority. Some modern folks have in turn taken to binding the term "Feminism" these extremist branches, but those who are simply all about the gender-equality still often self-identify as such. I'd agree that the movement for equality should adopt a gender-neutral name, if only to isolate themselves more clearly from the crazies, but as long as they feel like using it they can just carry on with their work.
