Fire, Fusion, and Steel

House Dangmu suggests we accept their unconditional surrender, but offer amnesty or at least mercy for the remaining survivors of the Rebellion

EMPRESS VICTORIA OF HOUSE WINDSOR, FIRST OF HER NAME. The fighting was brief, ritual-like, perfunctory. The palace guards had no desire to resist and so the coup was bloodless. Empress Victoria stroll into the palace behind her honor guard, entered the Celestial Hall, and ascended the steps to the throne, taking her seat as Empress Victoria Windsor, First of Her Name.

REGIS TRIUMPHANT AGAINST THE REBELS. It was quick, it was brutal, but the Rebellion is destroyed. Regis gains nothing from such a lackluster victory, especially in the face of an Imperial Ascension.

All hail dong Zhuo and all that

We denounce the coup d'etat. An Emperox needs the support of the Populux and this pile of donkey dung has no support from the elective. The galaxy just destroyed those that tried to take the throne by force, and it is time to do so again. We will support the endeavour this time.

Develop Territorial Asset: (explicitly trying to create a new asset and not looking for a temporary boost)
With the beginning of hostilities seemingly imminent, House Rajiput has decided to make the acquisitions neccessary to turn the Oriisa Prime - Chennai industrial chain into a fully functional military production line, and hiring security to protect it from sabotage

Military buildup: With that status quo between houses shaken, it is time to put the industrial might of House Rajiput to work, and churn out ships for our navy, produce more robots for the military, and train more officers to use our war machines to their fullest potential

OOC
OK, so Nuke in a private chat wasn't able to discern between OOC and IC. So I apparently have to be crystal clear about this in OOC: He swept in and couped without talking to anyone about it. This isn't cool by my faction (for once I went with a playstyle with principles, you might have noticed the social/Marxist justice flavor thing). He also noted that "there is no election in this game you win through influence rolls there is no election therefore coups are A-OK" and I'd like to refer to this from the very first update:

Emperox Election Tally
Milayo: III
Victoria: I

He did a coup. It's noted in the update. He also said "but if I didn't do this Obasan would have gotten it" which isn't really an argument either.

IC I believe:
Why is that even a problem? Why is Victoria the judge to claim that's a problem?

I had stayed neutral although loyal to the Empire, in whatever form that was. This is not the Empire. It's another Rebellion in a dress.

The game started with a vacant throne ready for election, not ready to be smashed into pieces.

EDIT:
OOC
I should stress that I don't support myself for the throne. It doesn't match what my faction is trying to do neither ideologically or practically.

I'll write up some proper IC stuff for this later - I was doing this post while doing an epic EU4 session with some buds. :)

Big oof

House Ostreer has not yet commented on the seizure of the Imperial Throne.

Sensing a period of discord and disharmony, House Ostreer have begun to build up Her navies to better protect Her interests. New taxes have been issued to fund this military expansion. (Military Buildup vs Might, Build Treasury vs Treasure).

For those who aren't in the chat.

Hey y'all. I bet you're wondering "where is the update?"
Well, let me tell you a story about updating this game.
It takes about 30 minutes, 45 top, halved if I don't bother with the writing portions. The issue is that, whoops, the Rebellion went down so fast I had to delve back into the original Reigns to figure out what has happened.
And, after extensive researching and playtesting (this time with your builds instead of the GM builds), I realized Reigns as written (which is largely what this game is) doesn't work well comp
As in, it is competitive, but its really meant to facilitate a story in, usually, a sandbox TTRPG adventure
So, nobody has the resilience I had expected which makes swings annoying, but manageable, except then we get to the private orders which is where things began to fall apart for me mentally
The Rebellion getting wiped in four days? Fine
A player getting wiped in two days from PM'd orders? What do you even do then?
Obviously it works RAW but it doesn't work for the story
But that required me to turn around and ask "what is the story?"
Because the story was largely an excuse plot in the first place! The underlying technology, the super conversion fusion torch, is a superscience technology lifted from GURPS Ultra Tech!

So I'm putting this on hold for a bit as I, very carefully, work out which direction I want to go with this. The extremely mechanic side of this game seems at odds with the increasingly interesting, but hamstrung, story side of this.
