First Look Persia

Doubt it, since you still have one attack command.

It just looks like a warrior with a 1 tile ranged attack, the scout promotion is probably similar.

2 tile :p

This Immortal thing is confusing. Is it a melee unit or a ranged unit?

If melee, it should let warriors upgrade to it and get melee promotions, but then it still can't capture a city???

If ranged, it gets ranged promotions and turns into a crossbow?

Makes no sense.

It's definitely a ranged unit, but yes, it's confusing how it will work for upgrades.

The best guess is that Warriors will skip Swordsmen and upgrade to Musketmen (being useless for 2 eras) and Immortals take the place of Swordsmen but upgrade to Crossbowmen or Field Cannons.

Or they let Warriors upgrade to regular Swordsmen, but you will build Immortals from scratch instead of making Swordsmen.

I thought they said in the video it defended like a swordsmen
It has a higher combat strength than a comparable ranged unit.

The capital is Pasagadrae instead of Persepolis. Leaving the door open for other future leaders.

I'm a little disappointed they made such a safe leader choice. Not arguing that Cyrus wasn't a great leader (if probably not as godlike as Darius makes him out to be), but I would have liked to have seen Xerxes I, especially since this incarnation seems to have a fixation on choosing civs and leaders who haven't been in the game before and Xerxes I has better justification for inclusion than many of them...

So, as far as Persia's Symbol, does anyone think it will likely be one of the two that appear on Cyrus's character design?

Either the symbol on his robes (wheel-like), or on his chest (bird-figure)

The bird figure is a symbol related directly to Cyrus I think that would be unlikely.

I think it will be the lion and sun, that was a symbol of Persia and of Iran.

Did you notice they put Firaxis logos on his bracers like Frederick's cloak pin?

The symbol from his shoulderpads is already in use for Zoasterism, so it probably won't be that.

The symbol on him is Cryus's standard, it somewhat similar to the Faravahar (the symbol of Zoroastrianism), you sure that is the one they use in game, because that would be odd.

They look similar to me, but I only have a passing familiarity.
