FlavourMod 2

Will this still function with patch 'H'?

No, not completely, but here comes the new fully compatible version. It won't break your old Fall from Heaven 0.34g FlavourMod 2.1.3 save games.

Version 2.1.4 changelog:
  • Change: compatibility to Fall from Heaven 0.34h
  • Change: yield preference takes improved yield from revealable unrevealed bonuses into account
  • Fix: bonus preference didn't work for unrevealed bonuses (e.g. Hippus couldn't see horses)

Do you mean that say, Mithril (picking the most extreme case) will be counted when totaling up hammers available in the fat-cross?

If so... are unrevealed bonuses (or yields) given less weight than quickly available ones? With capital sites I generally subscribe to the "bird in the hand" theory of city planning.

Re: Marsh possible on all map scripts:

Cool!

Exactly. It was always thought this way, but it didn't really work like I intended in the past. But don't worry the overall effect of this change isn't that big. If you consider, that there are usually 21 city plots, the one Mithril won't change the result to much.

No, but this is a valid point. Thanks. I'll probably weight the extra yield on base of the tech era in the next version.

^ i think this is a great idea! although if possible, put it in the variables section so we can mess with it :)

is it also possible to have it down-rank or ignore resources in jungles? FFH sticks clear jungle wayyyyyyy too far down into the tech tree.

would it take lots of time to merge this with snarko's options mod? having to renounce to one of the two is painful

Here you go, but don't expect me to do this for every new version. ;)

I only had to merge the dll files and the dll is the only file you'll have to replace if you follow these rather uncomfortable installation instructions:
  1. Install Fall from Heaven 034
  2. Install Patch h
  3. Install FlavourMod 2.1.4
  4. Install Snarko's Options Mod 0.22 (let it copy the FfH folder)
  5. Replace Snarko's DLL with the one attached below
Made a quick 100 turns test and it seemed to work. To use Snarko's ressource options is probably not a good idea, because they change the map after FlavourMod did its job.

It seems that this mod is making the Ring of Carcer spawn two Brigits, both of which are capturable. In the three games I started with Flavormod on there where two brigits in the ring. For each ring put down via worldbuilder, only one Brigit was spawned. Started some games without Flavormod on, and the ring would only spawn one Brigit as is intended.

Small update. Doesn't break anything. Back to FiRe.

Version 2.1.5 changelog:
  • Change (yield preference): additional bonus yields (improved) weighted by tech era (customizable)
  • Fix: there can only be one brigit in the ring of carcer (had to kill her twin ... *snivel*)

Download link in the first post (as always).

thanx for the fix :goodjob:

out of curiosity, does the flavourmod work fine with "end of winter" turned on? (i.e. does it run BEFORE the plots get turned to tundra? I guess so, but one never knows :p )

a couple suggestions :

Amurites could get a minor preference for the Letum Frigus seeing as they're supposed to be neighbours to the Illians and stuff

Malakim could get a minor preference for the Mirror of Heaven, the lore claims that they visit it in search for enlightenment ;)

does this all still work for 2.1.5?

FlavourMod does not come with an uninstaller. You can get rid of it by applying the latest Fall from Heaven patch (currently "h") again or by completely reinstalling Fall from Heaven.

Are you sure it's FlavourMod causing the CtDs? It only breaks save games started before installing FlavourMod. New ones are fine. As far as I know nobody else had a CtD with this mod for a long long time.
