Here is my first, adding some fog to marshes. I actually added fog to half the marsh tiles.

Fog? Maybe this fog could be used for a swampland scenario… replace the fog of war with this, so you're in the midst of a fog bank…
 
This is nice and - how could it be any other way, since it's you - innovative! The only reason for me to refrain from doing something similar with my terrain is that I fear the effect will be less attractive with units on these tiles.
 
Absolutely perfect for a fantasy mod. Gives a nice mystical effect to the terrain.

I think that fog of war is an overlay and may not work as you wish, may have to check it out though to know for sure.
It is. It has its own palette which does not match the terrain conventions. It's used is a hard-wired mystery afaik. As with unit animations there is no easy way to incorporate partial transparencies in modified files - again afaik after brief experimentation.
