Footy '08

That has been Fremantle's problem all year, they have lost games they should have won. By my count if they had won the games they should have, they would be easily in the finals race, but as a result of not being cool under pressure they have let another game slip.

1. They had a half decent coach (with due respect to Mark Harvey - great player but not a Coach).

2. They had got rid of some of the older and slower players and invested in youth.

3. They got a new club song. :p

4. To cut to the chase Freo would be a great club if they weren't complete duds. :mischief:

My vote goes to St Kilda - loaded with talent they are the perennial pretenders. Wonder whether anything has changed from the time Trevor Barker played, when the requirements to play at St Kilda were to dye your hair blond and party hard?

Considering you've got Adelaide, the Bulldogs and St Kilda after this round, you're probably right.

If the Bombers can get close to their best side on the ground we're a chance for at least 2 out of 3 - which probably won't be good enough for a final berth.

I agree. Unlike Freo, who simply don't perform, St Kilda show glimpses of brilliance and have the talent to win a premiership but play a game style which doesn't work for them.

I would actually say Port, since they were grand finalists last year and now they are near the wooden spoon, except for the weagles and demons horrible teams.

Another good win. Hopefully the defence will improve with Scarlett and Milburn coming back in, and Chapman will be pleasant up the ground. Probably another 3 votes for Junior tonight; he looks like giving Charlie a real shake.

One of the Bombers worst performances in the second half of the season - looking on the bright side the scumbaggers lost too. :mischief:

Ablett jnr will face serious competition for Charlie from the Kangas B Harvey

Junior did get a lot of clear BOGs earlier in the season, which put him fairly far in front under some calculations; the injury time has tightened things, and even improved Jimmy's calculations for back to back.
If he can play like he did last time he played North Melbourne and the Weagles over the next 2 weeks, then he will be getting close to being in like Flynn.

GA Jnr might be a better player than Brent Harvey... still though, Brent Harvey's goal against the Bulldogs 2 rounds back was one of the best bits of football I've ever seen.

Undermanned Bombers were no match for the Doggies - bummer!

The Swans are in freefall, our great decade has drawn to a close. I guess at least we lasted over half a season longer than the West Coast before it all fell apart.

Yeah, guess it's time to rebuild. As painful as it is it's probably time to get rid of a number of the veterans and start blooding even more players. Oh well, we had a good run, especially considering we didn't have the greatest of lineouts.

Hall's gotta go, his main value lately has been drawing the best defender so others can get a freer run at goal.

Another one down. A bit of a worry not putting four solid quarters together, but there is still the Eagles next week to try and get things on track.
However, my somewhat restrained reaction could be the result of simmering ill-ease from not get 3 votes from both umpires at the Mail Medal count last weekend. Robbed, I tellls you!

Pssh, what do you have to worry about? Geelong's an almost certainty for the flag this year!

If Rocca and Burns are at full fitness, Collingwood can win the Premiership. Similarly, if Hawthorn play their absolute best, they could also win the Premiership. However, I can't see anyone other than Geelong winning if they're at their best, and even then there are only two teams I believe could beat them on an off day.

Collingwoods chances in the finals = very ordinary, after losing to Freo. And I was hoping Collingwood and its supporters would go into the finals brimming with confidence. :mischief:
