This has to be my record for foreign income. I was Elizabeth on my own continent making nice with everyone, somehow not totally pissing off anyone.

I'm sure there are much better results out there, so come on people let's see them....

That's a nice amount, but i've had 2/3 vassals in the past paying 10-20GPT for resources x5 (ie 200-300 GPT) whilst still maintaining good tech rates themselves. The flipside being two of them were voluntary capitulations, and I lost the income when forced to reinvade because I "could no longer protect them"

My highest it 212, from my last game, wow I love selling resources, easy money. I especially love selling happiness resources to my enemies:
"thanks for your money, you're helping to finance the military that will one day conquer you!"

ah but where's your proof? let's see screenshots... just joking I believe you.

does the AI ever turn down a trade deal of money for resources? any amount, any resource.... they never turn it down for me. why was the game coded this way, any comments or thoughts on this?

Impressive :goodjob:

What era is this? If it's before the modern age then it is incredibly good.

I've had them pay dbl digit gold + non-military resource in trade for a military resource ... it was ivory and i had moved into rifles and cavs by then :)

Yeah, the AI doesn't really know when military resources are valuable and when they aren't. I've sold copper to AIs that also had iron and were entering the gunpowder units era, and they gave a lot in return. At least ivory gives happiness, but copper only boosts your production here & there, and it matters so little that the AI shouldn't even want it!

Also, the AI makes no difference between sheep or wheat for example. It doesn't understand that selling me wheat will bring +2 :health: early in the game, while I give him +1 :health: with the sheep. Or that land health resources are better than seafood ones (only coastal cities get the full benefit from the latter). Oh well, I guess that's one "problem" I'll have to live with, especially since it's almost always in my favor. ;)

A few weeks ago I was playing and was assaulting Bismark in mid game. I eventually ran out of steam and had to make him a vassel. He had three marginal cities left. I was running really low on cash and was checking the trade table constantly. Every three turns or so I would look over and see that he had 12 gold, 10 gold, 11 gold for trade. You would think that someone with such a puny civ wouldn't have money to burn, but I ended up having him on the line for about 55 Gold worth of resources. That was pretty awesome. Obviously I didn't get up to your total amount, but I was pretty excited at the time.
