Forum structure

We should still have a last OOC and subgames forum, with metagame political rants, OOC comments to the game and so on, as a security vent we can displace postings that are within forum rules, but outside the forum area. Here we can also place the Lacrosse League and other goodies of various minigames invented by the players.

Wouldn't anything related to the Civ game go in the gameplay forum? That might also make a good place for civ-related side games.

Political and legal disputes (which is where the metagame stuff comes from) could go into the laws/regulations forum, along with debates on potential laws. That's where people who are interested in that will congregate anyway.

The side games which involve roleplay could provide extra spice to the citizen forum. We can always add a side games forum later.

Good suggestions, just make clear that those topics would be located where you pointed out right here, and we will be good.

We don't want low activity and barely visited forums. I would like to suggest:

Main
-- Citizen's Forum (In-character discussions about the game. This also includes organization of factions. Factions could run themselves through a thread here)
---- National Factbook and History threads (there is not enough here for a forum of its own)
---- Faction threads (ask for subforums if enough info develops to be confusing)
-- Gameplay Forum (all threads related to playing the Civ4 game including schedule, instructions, game analysis, and statistics)
-- Voting
-- Laws, Rules and Regulations Forum

Sounds like a good start to me. If we need anything else we can also request it later.

Very good we reached some common ground here, which makes for a better organized forum, but small enough for all members to read.

This idea looks good to me!

Sounds good to me, though if there is a lot of clutter in the Citizens Forum I think it should be subdivided with a separate Faction Forum.

When are we getting the new forum? Were basically waiting on it to get anything new started.

I was seeing if things were going quiesce...

Request submitted. No way to predict delay time -- sometimes it's fast, sometimes TF is busy.

We'll want to populate the getting started stuff before making an announcement, and might get to the unpopulated forums with a direct link before they're made "live" from the parent forum. Please go ahead with remaining prep steps like writing the user-friendly introduction materials, draft marketing material, etc.
