French Chateau?!

Even though 'Chateau' literally translates as 'Castle', what it is usually applied to is more an (unfortified) country house than a castle. I think it more likely that they would become available with Architecture rather than Chivalry.

I have the suspicion that Chateau spamming is going to be prevented by not allowing two of them to be build adjacent to each other, which historically makes sense as it was the residence of a major landowner. If you look at the screenshot, you'll see that they aren't indeed next to each other, but also that there are undeveloped tiles next to some of the Chateau.

That seems possible... Another possibility could be that it must be built next to a forest, or both possibilies hehe

Indeed, in many cases the more appropriate term in British English for them would be "manor house". Or "stately home".

Um, looks more like this German castle someone posted on the 2K forum to me.

It's in the same region as the Prora!

No, I think the resemblence is coincidental. Plus, they're not identical, just very similar in appearance. What I really think is going on with this so-called Chateau UI, is that the designers pinned a bunch of pictures of various French Chateaux onto the billboards above their work stations and, using those as a reference, created a relatively generic, non-specific Chateau model.
