Why is it that GOTM announcements are no longer on the front page?

We have only put them there occasionally, for special events mostly. Guess we figure that as a regularly schedule event, players know where to look for them. We are currently running a Civ III, 2.5 Civ IV and 2 Civ5 games per month. Seems like a lot of front page news?

How come when you leave a group you're subscribed to, you stay subscribed?

Do not think the system is that smart.

Simply go to your account and delete the subscription there.

Or you can set the default for your account to be no email notification, then you'll have to ask to subscribe to threads manually each time.

I'm not seeing an option to delete group subscriptions on the control panel or in the edit subscriptions menu, as that's only for threads.

It doesn't actually work though. And the defrending does not either. Even after clearing cookies a couple of times, the groups I unsubscribed to didn't go away until a couple of months later, and the new group did not get entered to the list. And when I ended friendship with someone, I still see the red mark by their name that they are on my friend list.

They're probably still on your contacts list, which for some reason is kept separately. Same as how membership in and subscription to groups is different.

Will someone please explain to me how to post a poll?

I started a thread, and checked the little box at the bottom for include a poll and told it how many voting options to include. But nothing popped up to let me input my voting options for the poll. I didn't post the thread because I didn't want to mess it up by starting a poll thread without a poll.

You have to submit the post. Then it will say that it's posting the thread, and will take you to a poll page, where you actually create the poll.

Why are threads in groups randomly marked as read when I haven't even had a chance to look at them? It's rather annoying for a guy who only reads bolded threads, and I'm reasonably sure most people do that as well. It's kind of the point of bolded threads.

Question: In the all other games forum Id like to post my Lets Play of Portal 2. In the span of over 3 hours of video, I swear three times (most times I just scream "CRAP" or "THIS IS BAD"). Its the word meaning excrement. If I didnt draw any extra attention to it would it be trouble?
