Is there something going on with the forum lately ? For at least 2 days - every 15-30 minutes the forum&main site simply stop loading. After that it works perfectly(maybe even faster) for about an hour or so. It can't be my connection - all other sites worked fine ...

I'm not sure. The first one was thursday morning around 10AM (GMT+2). It stopped working for about 5-10 minutes, so i left. And it happened again on the same day when i came back from school at around 11:30AM.
But it wasn't only in the morning - on friday it was also in the evening (9PM). It lasted a lot more on that time.
But the thing is, it gave the impression that it gets stuck every x minutes everytime i was on the forum.
(i also tried on different browser and that wasn't the problem)
Yesterday it only got stuck once. No problems today so far ... maybe it's better ...
Oh the irony - i clicked Post reply on 09:43 and it got stuck. "Page cannot be displayed" on every civfanatics link. I'll keep the tab open and we'll see when this thing gets posted.
EDIT: yay - only 5 minutes

No, it seems to happen totally random. Actually, it happened already once today, but I'm only online for 10 minutes or so.

I have noticed the "this ad only displays once.." ads have been appearing multiple times while I'm on. The halo one just did it.

Let's say that the ad displays every day at midnight (it doesn't really). If you come to this site at 11:00 pm, you will see the takeover ad provided that you haven't been on this site since midnight this morning. If you stay on for at least an hour, you will see it again because it will be midnight.

Are you sure it was the ad we were talking about? An ad that takes you to a black page and redirects you to CFC in a few seconds, appearing (supposedly) once in 24 hours?

I've never had it with Firefox, and I heard TF saying it doesn't show up on any other browser than IE.
Yes. TF has set it up so that everyone can now see the warnings/infractions.

It's a user group option.
I have enabled it for regular members now.
In posts that received an infraction, you should see a yellow cardor red card
at the lower right corner of the post. Clicking on the card will show the infraction given and which moderator gave the infraction.

So does two yellows mean a sending off?
Nope. Yellow's are warnings. For stull like sig/avatar violations, or minor things that the mod feels doesn't warrant a point. Red flags accumlate infractions which leads to bans.

No I mean it takes me to the same ad more than once --like minutes apart -- not over the midnight hour.
And even then the takeover ad isn't at the first page load after midnight, but once every twenty-four hours.
