Full Monty

^ We're apparently not agreed. That's why I'm asking.

I would typically bulb Philo, yes. Just worried about trade possibilities. It looks like MC and HBR are the only ones open ATM. Calendar actually wouldn't be either, correct?

not like you need trade straight away.

You bulb to prevent AI's going that way more or less.

In my opinion if we make academy we might as well selftech feudalism as nether CoL nor Cs will give any trade value.
If we self tech feudalism we doom ourselves live without beareau so that palace build is very meh. [and i would never had started it in gems anyway].

If we bulb we hope somehow get Col for it [after stupid wonder gets built, imho, monties should not delay it too much]. Also hopefully we get feudalism for it somehow.
Lots of uncetainty in this way, but that is uncetainty i like.
On other hand if we fizzle diplo/trades it might end not very good.

P.s. doesn't monties have machinery yet?

I thought Taoism was founded already. Are you sure about that bbp? If it hasn't been founded, I'm ok with bulbing philo. But we'll need col first.

Living without bureau isn't bad, and moving the palace to gems actually cuts on overall maintenance since it's closer to the center of our empire. I imagine we will eventually shift to bureau and even if we don't, running the palace's commerce through an academy will be worth the move.

I would prefer to keep the conquered city but I'll yield to the team on that point. I think the whole "keep green from vassalizing" argument is good.

Tao isn't founded, unless I'm not looking at the right save or something. Why do we need COL first? We unlocked Philo with Drama. I'm leaning towards the bulb now. I'd follow with COL-CS. That's the most useful line and we already have trade bait in Philo. The only unfortunate thing is that COL will probably be available for trade soon. I'd probably just lower the slider until we have enough cash to burn right through CS. Maybe a COL trade opens up in the meantime.

MC trade is nice, too. We've got the production capacity for some forges right now and they give 2 :)

I think Palace in Gems is good, regardless of what we do now. We will be running Bureau and have an academy eventually, and we're not really needing other production from that city now.

So the idea would be bulb philo, then revolt to HR--pacifism? Do we want caste system too? I'm assuming not. Then the turn after that, we revolt to Hindu. Sounds fine by me.

One more thing:
Where do we wanna plant the clam/pig city? I prefer 1W of the current location, to get the pig in the first ring in case we lose that barb city to Indigo.

For certain we cannot keep that city... it has 6.51% chance to revolt.

Lurker's comment: By default, captured cities don't flip back to their previous masters. That is, if you're talking about Tepetlaoxtoc, the city you captured from Indigo...

Played 6t. I was a bit sloppy with unit actions. Just realized we still don't have any scouting in the east.

  • Bulbed Philo, traded it to White for MC+HBR.
  • 1t Currency, then revolted to HR/Pac, followed next turn by Hindu.
  • Gifted the sacrificial city to Indigo and gifted Indigo's city to Green one turn later, after chopping a forest into Gold.
  • Traded Currency for 200g to Green.
  • Signed OB with both of them.
  • Traded the spare gems to Indigo for spices.
  • Put 1t into COL, as it wasn't open for trade. It opened up next turn, and I traded Philo to Indigo for COL+Calendar+100g. Started CS last turn.

I stopped because Green capitulated to White this turn. White canceled our resource deals, as well. Green wants Philo+300g for Machinery. Awful deal.

3 of our vultures are done healing in Gold, and I've built one more. We should be able to finally take that barb city in 6t.

I built 1 more worker, and a settler is 1t from completion.

That's about it.

Looks good, I only went over quickly as it's time to go already.

>>>I want more workers, we have a large number of improvements coming up with spread irrigation.
>>>Probably gift Calendar to white.

Yeah, more workers would be good. I started on forges most everywhere, but they're probably not needed yet since we have HR :) cap now. We still could use one more settler soon, as well, for the southern cow.

Calendar gift: just because he'll get it from Green anyway? I guess, but it's not like we get any real diplo use from it.

I am somehow not fan of making settlers than we face lack of worker force.

And we lack it.

Unfortunately that settler will have to wait. Spam 5~8 workers so we can get improvements first.

Calendar: we are White's WE. Due to Green being his vassal, we are therefore land targets. I wouldn't mind having him at Cautious rather than Annoyed. (although it might just be for nothing anyway).

Am I up? Guess so... shyuhe is civless atm. I can't check the save right now but will post comments tmr. Tricky situation with that capitulation now...

Well I don't have much to say, I'll play until CS. Build infra and workers (cancel forge in eridu for now). Settler is to settle right where he is standing (well, rather sitting :p)? Where exactly do we want the uruk settler to go? I'd say NE of cows (north of uruk).

Scouts are big priority imo. I'll whip out a WB in lagash to go east and I'll probably send another (land) unit east as well... We have to find out what's out there exactly.

Since we just adopted pac I doubt we want to drop hindu but that might cost us dearly if white goes for us... we're his WE. Only thing we could do diplo-wise is getting a trade embargo of indigo against white for 285g... means another -1 with white and is too expensive so leave it I guess. Opinions?

why you are all obsessed with workboat scouting is beyound me. Send shyuhe's galley if you feel terrible need to do so.
