not getting the boudi one....still hasn't clicked.

Um, how do I put this, she appears to be trying to "influence" the trade, perhaps by offering "melons". :mischief:

Also... really? On a Lakes map? Now I know the game truly hates me:

This was indeed a crazy game. Wang DoW'd Monty in 580BC (and took Tenochtitlan, to boot) and became a monster shortly after. Shaka wonderwhored the Pyramids (promptly changed into -- you guessed it -- Police State ), 'henge, SoZ, and some other crap rather than pointlessly DoW everyone in sight. Must be something in the Lake water :crazyeye:

I've never seen anything like this.

So I'm going about my business, expanding and capturing barb cities and whatnot, and I capture a city called Ligurian, which is definitely a city founded by barbarians according to this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=214926

I don't know how I missed it initially, but a few dozen turns later, I find out that it's the Christian holy city! Since it's impossible for barbs to found a religion, I'm forced to conclude that the barbs settled it, another civilization took it over, got to theology (where it was made the holy city), and then the barbs retook the city!

And that's exactly what happened. All in one turn too!

Although, if he doesn't have anything but the Axeman and Archer nearby to defend the city, they actually pose a threat.

How? By taunting them from the forest? "You gonna bleed on me?".

A single Warrior can defend a city from any number of any siege engines.

Damage caps.

Stupid me really needs to play this game more.

That's a good one. I've seen this before (a "stack" of two Cats on my shore - and yes, there was only a warrior in the city). It's not limited to amphibious attack only, I've also seen land-based stacks of something like twelve Cats and two Chariots - maybe those will get the job done eventually, but I wouldn't really count on it.

Hmmm. Incurable nut-case? Or just a wee bit too optimistic?
