Are you crazy? With copper, they can build spears! SPEARS!!!!

No tank can stand before our wall of spears!

... or not giving cities enough shields...

Careful, you'll confuse all these young'uns with this 'shield' talk. But there are still lots of us 'experienced' (I didn't want to type 'old' there!) types that know what you mean... :p

1) more trapped barbs :goodjob:
2) useful hut
3) barbarian sanctuary - nice guy Qin didn't want to kill them, so he built a massive road all the way around...

Oh yeah, hammers in Civ 4, shields in the earlier ones. How silly of me to forget that. :crazyeye:

Legion, I demand you tell me what mod you are using in the first screenshot. :D Looks awesome. I'd say LoR, but there's no Hirohito or Theodora in there...

Hirohitos there... ;)

EDIT: and theodora, as a matter of fact ;)

I'm guessing WolfRev, or MergeMod. Wolf had Multiple Expansion in the tech tree, and Hirohito (not so sure about Theodora).

It was Quot Capita - a very good mod with loads of stuff in it. Quite similar to LoR except that it has a Next War like future era (I don't think LoR does?)

number 3 actually made me laugh, which is bad when one is enjoying a beverage...

Sadly, several turns after I spotted that, evil Saladin came along and raised the barb city. I'm waiting to see if Qin will build a new, shorter road to conenct his cities or keep going all the way around.

Three screenies from a recent game:
1) I'm sorry, what? I think you have it backwards.
2) Seriously, what? You definitely do.
3) Saladin can't make up his mind.

P.S. The English capital became San Fransisco. Hah.

Correct, LoR does not have the next war stuff in it

Except for Mechs. I've never got all that far into the game, but mechs are in the sevopedia.

If I recall, someone was working on merging the Next War stuff into LoR, but I don't know how far that project went.

Back story to this screenshot: I have been in and out of war, mostly with minor nations, for the better part of 4000 years. Since I'm Imperialistic, I have by now 8 great generals, 2 of which were settled, 5 of which were attached to various units, and 1 of which is awaiting the creation of The Bismark. I have some level 12 units running around, and my average unit's experience is probably somewhere in the 40's, and that's with a Chm leader. So I gather a stack of almost 60 of my most experienced units. And I go and attack the other superpower, the French. Fortunately, I decide to explore his coastal cities 2 turns before attacking, and I see this. And that's just one city. There were some similar stacks in 6 other cities.

I can just imagine my units disembarking, looking at the city, and saying, 'Whose idea was this?'

Later, I sent a Great Spy over. The power ratio was literally 0.0 . That means Napoleon had more than 20 times my units.:scared::faint::suicide:

With a Fish and a Clam in the BFC and the island itself a Plains Hill, it is actually quite a decent place to settle if you want to give an overseas trade route to all your cities. Still have to hit that B key though :D
