I see... a weird-looking thing. :p

I haven't posted any shots here for a while - I've been snapping shots occasionally for a while - let me put some up now.

Now - I've heard that Aussies are not renown for great ancient culture, but this is ridiculous...

The fire descended from the sky, the landscape was melted, the military vaporized, but the guys with the hammers just kept right on hammering...

Umm. Captain - this is a lovely lake, but how are we going to explain this to the admiral? He's not going to believe your story on this one...

Edit: Looks like the attachments on this post don't work - I've reported these three below and those attachments are working, so don't bother with the ones in this post!

Obviously Alex was not in agreement. He got bored...

Ummmm. It looks to me like BUFFY can't count! Any comments from our BUG/BUFFY gurus?

Huh? How did this happen? This I've never seen before, and I'm convinced it's not supposed to happen! And no WB, I swear!

@2nd and 3rd of 1st post: Isolated toku, how fitting

Can't see those in the 2nd post either.

OK - I'm trying that second three again - hopefully you can see them this time...

Edit: I think you will see them this time...

The third one is unusual, but it can happen ... There are even 2 possibilities:

- Alex or julius ( but not both ) lost so many units in the first turn of war that they passed the refuse to talk phase in the war dec turn.

- The second to play of them got the mediator event and acepted it.

That isn't BUFFY (or BUG) ... it is the standard game. The dom limits are always percentages (rounded) - we just convert them to tiles to make it easier to understand. You can see this when you look at your land / pop percentages v the 'largest'. Your's show decimal places, the largest doesn't.

What I was commenting on was that BUFFY was telling me that I had 1568 of 1568 tiles necessary for domination but also that I had 50.99% of 51% necessary for domination, and I was NOT awarded domination until the next turn when I acquired more tiles. Obviously the judgements to whether I had domination or not was made on the fact that I had "50.99%" not 51% yet somehow I did have 1568 of 1568 tiles which is my maths book is all I need? So in saying I didn't think BUFFY could count I was assuming that I didn't actually have 100% of the tiles necessary for domination, yet BUFFY was telling me I did?

I imagine the first would be very unusual indeed, and I'm very skeptical about that possibility. As for the second, I didn't see the usual announcement of such a thing that usually appears at the top of the screen, but I might have missed it while I was picking my jaw up off the floor at the amazing peace in the same turn as the war declaration! :D

I guess it has to go down as one of those "one in a million" RNG things...?

I agree with what you are saying ... and I suppose that BUFFY is a little bit wrong. Domination is determined by percentage, not by tile count. BUFFY is displaying tile count because that is much easier to grasp. I guess we should modify BUFFY's tile counter to take the dom percentage and add 1 tile to it to avoid the rounding issue you stumbled upon.

Or try using the ceil(x) function ;)

EDIT: Is that what the code uses I wonder to decide whether you have won?

tbh - it has been so long since I have looked at that particular bit of code, I am not sure what it is actually doing now.

But Alexander both declared war and made peace...

My guess would be an event as well. I had situations where I got DOWd and there was the 'stop-war-against-mysty'-resolution on the turn of the attack and my attacker voted for it to pass :crazyeye: Sometimes the AI doesn't want to be at war even though they declare it, it seems...

Famous last words, as 10 turns later, Monty screams across the border with his 10 million jags...

But Alexander both declared war and made peace...
I was thinking more along the lines of Alex being dragged into an existing war or choosing to dogpile and then Julius capitulating to another AI who was at Peace with Alex. Julius would then make peace with everyone and then you'd get a message saying that Julius had capitulated and is now a Vassal state of Civ X. You can clearly see that there are other Log Entries if you were to scroll up... where we'd probably actually see the truth of the matter coming out as a capitulation-enforced peace by Julius capitulating to someone else.

Then again, other possibilities exist, but I'd definitely want to scroll up in the Log Entries as my first step in trying to track down the cause.
