1.Why is the game recommending I settle in that spot?

Now some pathfinders:

2. "You #$%^&*&^%$#, you think you can sail through the city with the chance that those trees in the Fog-of-war might magically turn to water?"

3. This is with a different caravel:
"There won't be any sea there you . . ."

4. "*sigh* Never mind"

No noes, its my weakness! THE RED X OF DOOOMMMMM!!!!

Some of the less well-constructed browsers leave a red 'X' in the place of any broken images on the page.

1) Crazy culture :crazyeye:
2) FFFFUUUUU!!!! How I hate it when that happens! (Now the Byzantines get the city)
3) This is probably the ultimate in coincidences (Leonidas is born because of 300 Spartans killing a unit)
4) Good thing all my exploration units are spears, hmm?
5) Wow.... pretty popular city site? (Cyrus got 7 knowledge in ruins events that game.)
6) I Really think that there should be some sort of AI mechanism in place to prevent that sort of thing.
7) Wait... What? How?? (It's LMA, by the way, so no WB used).
8) Perfect World indeed... (Population cap of about 30 for that city, without biology and with no farms on the other squares)
9) This is what happens when you give a unit all possible defensive promotions. +400% strength when fortified.

Playing LoR plus a weird attachment that my cousin sent me which throws around random bonuses and allows you to give any unit any promotions (except for the specialized spy and naval ones for land units, and obviously land promotions for naval units.)

The Iceman cometh!

(For the record, that city is settled on the only iron within about 20 tiles in each direction. Least I got something positive out of it besides the metal!)

Not really funny so much, but isn't this a ridiculous capital?

Unfortunately, I really needed Izzy on my side that map. Ended up quitting after I realized that Suleiman had peacefully expanded to 21 cities...while I had 8, three of which I had to fight for.

Just wondering... what mod is that?

1. Mediocre start. As usual...

BUT WAIT!

2. Two turns later...much better.

Why would you call a start with 2 visible food sources and 2 gold (grass hill gold even!) call mediocre?!

^ One gold is outside the starting BFC if the settler were to be settled in place, and the other gold is on a plains hill which in addition to the other plains tiles eats into the food surplus. IMHO the second spot is even worse - you lose 1 food resource(which wasn't really good anyway) so you'd have to farm every other tile to be able to work all that gold(which will take a long while) or find another city spot to the west to work some of the gold.

Also, grass hill gold + 3 peaks in starting BFC? What kind of map is that? :dubious:

1SW is a great city from what you know in the starting SS. In the spot he settled he can work all gold tiles at size 8 (with rice and 2 grass farms).

My point mainly was, I wouldn't consider a start with food and 1 gold/gems source mediocre, let alone one with 2...

I didn't know that gold could generate on grass hill.
