He’s clearly chomping at the bit to share whatever secret knowledge awaits us.

Probably waiting for corporate to give him the nod.

Something is planned. That’s really all anyone can say.

And we’ve said that repeatedly for 151 pages (and counting).

Now this may be a stupid question, but how do we know that they weren't referring to the play station and what it was release, when they said they had more stuff coming?

I don't believe that was the meaning myself, but just, you know ... contemplating possible scenarios.

I mean, it could, but telling your predominantly PC user-base you've got more stuff planed and then just releasing a port for consoles doesn't seem like the wisest idea. A LOT of people wouldn't be happy.

Indeed, it would be an unprecedented fail!
Also, you do have a smartphone, don't you?

There is one thing i belive nobody mention about adding more content to civ6.

Everything they add to civ game is in some way expected to appear in next game ... there was no religion, world congress, so many civs, live map .... every of those thing we now by default expect to apear in Civ7 ....

So, by adding more content to this civ they make it more demanding and difficult to make next

I do not expect them to publish third expansion pack, in the past they had maximum of 2 expansions, so why change it now?

Patch to fix some bugs and add some missing content is always possible, but I do not see a new expansion pack coming. They already added all major features that we requested so it would be difficult to find new content for expansion pack that would go well with existing game functionality.

By looking at their release dates in past I expect them to publish Civ VII in 2023 or start of 2024.

With new Humankind game as their main competition I would expect them to start on a new fresh version, with better 3D layout and hopefully more serious looking characters instead of cartoon leaders that we have now.

I expect very quiet period for next few years until VII is announced and published.

I meant Kevin’s post suggests something is planned for the game (PC, Mac, whatever). Otherwise his post would be pretty trolly (which, to be clear, I don’t think it is).

But if you want hard proof something is planned - survey and new steam achievements. That’s pretty hard proof right there.

But it’s only hard proof of “something”. Doesn’t tell us anything much about “what” (other than, probably, not a Full On Third Expansion given only 10 achievements) or “when”.

One of important points is that the term for all content from base to last DLC is usually called 'Ultimate Edition' or 'Complete Edition' while they opted for 'Platinum Edition' this time which sounds as mere upgrade from 'Gold Edition' rater than the end.

There was no religion in base Civ 5 or World Congress in base Civ 6. Civ 5 completely skipped Disasters (Volcanoes) which, If I am not mistaken, were in some minimal way added prior and were re-introduced properly developed in Civ 6 expansion. Ideologies may be argued to be missing from Civ 6 still so far or were re-implemented in simplier way as Regime of Tier III from base. Civ 6 didn't even have Golden Ages in base game and added them expanded in R&F. Civ 5 has simple Spies in BNW If I am not mistaken and Civ 6 expanded them in Base.

It's not really simple enough to be considered. Some features Civ 6 Ultimate has might be used in simplier or reworked way in base Civ 7 and there's always possibility to add them in Expansions. Spies, Golden Ages and World Congress being added at different miletones in Civ 6 at different scales and Ideologies either missing or being replaced by Tier III Governments clearly shows it's not that linear.

It still surprises me they don't release a minor patch to just fix the obvious bugs and exploits (pantheon).

I think this bodes well for there to be something substantiative in the pipeline, like DLC or an expansion. If there was a minor patch, it probably would've been released now. To me, that suggests that all the bug fixes and changes are bundled into something greater.

Your assuming that a minor patch would fix things, or that 2K cares about it's customers.
