[GS] Future Update?

Why's that?

last time after like 6-8 months of relative silence an expansion got announced i believe.
But at this point firaxis might be working at civ 6 at half speed. Focussing on a new project first.
My expectations are not high. Just to avoid disappointment again.

i’ve got some hopes Eagle Pursuit has some inside information NDA about good stuff.
He has been lurking a bit to much on civfanatics lately.

*back to playing paradox again*

Lol. I'm just keeping an eye on things the same as everyone else.

My feeling is that whatever is coming is taking time because it will be released simultaneously on all platforms. The PC/Mac/Linux versions of whatever it is were completed first as the benchmark. Hopefully now they're getting the other platforms' versions squared with them.

My mind is at ease with this lack of development because I've been working on a writing project.

With Kevin at the helm I am assuming that the next spinoff will be a K-Pop themed 4x game with dating sim elements.

Then it's going to be awhile, since they haven't even gotten the previous patch right.

2 months without any change to the depots on steamDB, is that a record ?

Would that mean they've just changed the way they test builds, or that they're currently working on something completely different ?
There have been mysterious "changed changenumber" updates that affect only civ vi on steamdb roughly weekly this year. But we have no idea if they have any significance (they happened last year, too, intermingled with test depot updates). The usual test branches for patches haven't been updated since last year. So it's possible they've started hiding their work, but I don't know that we have any way of determining that.

We still need Maya in Civ 6 so there must be more upcoming content.
I don't take NO as answer and accept no compromises.

Firaxis CEO talking with Kevin :
what do you mean you will change the name of 3rd XP is called BTS and you already posted a picture of it?

Apparently there's a 2K sale for the next week on Xbox Live where you can get $21 off Civ 6.

CEO: I really hope that BTS means Beyond the Sword or something. It does, right?

I think the silence is due to that as well, it would make sense for Firaxis to aim for simultaneous releases after spending resources on the console release. I want to imagine that for console players discovering civ for the first time It's been one hell of a ride, first get addicted, then two expansion bundled together...and then a new xpack? besides if a third expack comes and releases at the same time (as opposed to a staggered release) you could relocate most of your development resources into another proyect.

I'm willing to wait a bit ...*keeps looking at the birds on the distance looking for signs anyway*

The plot thickens

Thou shal not tempt the PR head with words of KPop

RnF was released 8 Feb and GS was released 14 Feb. Even if FXS are planning a DLC not a Third Expansion, I had thought FXS might target similar dates. So, something this week or next.

But yet another sale suggests to me any DLC will be delayed beyond that. Maybe March.

Either way, I’m not waiting around for this. Happy to do other stuff.

I believe those changenumbers are mostly just steam stuff. Old titles without recent updates or activity seem to get them as well.
