[GS] Future Update?

If Humankind is having an effect on Civ VI it seems more likely that it is making 2K even more wary of sharing the details of features until release is imminent so that Humankind can't take inspiration from new Firaxis ideas.

I don't think that's the case, Humankind already looks like it will have a very distinctive feel from civ, besides It's not like It's their first game. If they took ideas from civ to give them their own twist they probably already did no need for an xpack for that.

It turns out next content pack was hugely built around health and disease. In order not to be disrespectful regarding recent events, Firaxis decides to postpone release until the end of the outbreak - seven months later.

But they don't say it, there is just more silence, so this thread devolves into insanity so bad it becomes bigger news story than recent pandemic ever was.
Can we stop repeating this nonsense? There's absolutely no evidence that any of this is true.
..or they do wait to make sure they got it all right.. :smoke:

R&F was announced at 3PM GMT, GS at 6PM GMT, according to the "announcement" articles on steam.

It's possible GS was announced earlier and the article only appeared on steam at 6PM though.
There is a general feeling that the Civ Twitter account will be used for any DLC/XP announcement - and that it won't be on the same day that they also post a non-announcement "filler" tweet. Even if the announcement itself is done at a vaguely different time.

It is also generally expected that the announcement will happen very close to "on the hour" at either 11a, 12p, or 1p EDT probably on a Tuesday or Thursday. But, as has been previously stated by many, including our great prophet @Eagle Pursuit, we are in "Terra Incognita" here so just about anything is possible.

If we’re expecting them to wait out corona I wouldn’t hold out any hope until mid April at the earliest. Hopefully they use this time to bug fix and balance.

Still no movement from Runner. They should have called it Sleeper.

submarine expansion confirmed.

if they wait for corona virus to go away we wont ever get anything. It will be still with us next year , it is a variant of the flu afterall and historically those comeback after summer period, so it wont go anywhere , and the vaccine to help us cope with its higher mortality rate wont be out for a year at least.

Corinthian's update ?

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run,
but only one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may win.

I am unfamiliar with how game development works or the processes but is it possible that these smoke builds and 2kqa builds actually be the runner content that they are testing and once they are satisfied with the builds they can just transfer it to the Runner to populate it?

Do we need another Greek leader though?
Unless this means Ancient Israel since it's quoted from the Bible.

It's possible. Although from comparing my beta testing experience (different company) to SteamDB updates, it's more likely that they have a secret copy of the Civ VI app hidden on Steam somewhere and they are testing Runner on that and will eventually switch it over.

So in theory, they could have this Runner build up and running (whenever they finish and are satisfied with it) without ever testing it on the actual Runner build? or would they have to test it a few times after they initially switch it over?

In theory, yes. I imagine they will test it anyway just to be sure everything copied over correctly.

2kqa_c updated. Runner still sleeping.
