There is now a Smoke B, formerly pdreview. Runner is not running yet.
Could this mean that the first Smoke build is stable enough. For firaxis to experiment with more content on smoke B without fear of crashing Smoke A.
This is progress right?
Or is it more important to look closely at what runner is doing?
I think this is additional confirmation that they are working on something, but provides no new info on timing, content, etc.Could this mean that the first Smoke build is stable enough. For firaxis to experiment with more content on smoke B without fear of crashing Smoke A.

The lack of a date worries me as it would take a while after the initial announcement for the actual release. Hopefully we will know something soon. If the old Boston Marathon rumor was true, we could see a July release, which feels like an eternity.I think this is additional confirmation that they are working on something, but provides no new info on timing, content, etc.
It turns out next content pack was hugely built around health and disease. In order not to be disrespectful regarding recent events, Firaxis decides to postpone release until the end of the outbreak - seven months later.
But they don't say it, there is just more silence, so this thread devolves into insanity so bad it becomes bigger news story than recent pandemic ever was.
Can't it be that they are being told not to give out any information until Humankind announces its release date? It might very well be that 2K wants to compete directly by bringing out DLC in the same time frame.
Again this reference to 'Humankind'.
And I still don't understand the reasoning behind it.
Why should a company actively seek to compete with another developer? Why endanger the own sales numbers by launching at the same time as another games company?
If at all, an earlier launch would be desirable!
The only reason for a synchronized launch would be the desire to financially destroy the competitior and get rid of him for good.
But I don't think that a) Firaxis/2K has enough market power to do so sucessfully if they wanted to and b) they don't even have the intention.
Possibly, but if they're waiting to know the release date of humankind, I'd say it would be to avoid marketing interference. Keeping history- inspired 4x games in the spotlight as long as possible is good for both companies, so I'd think they'd want to spread out releases. Can't it be that they are being told not to give out any information until Humankind announces its release date? Man, if HK is still adding ideas it hears off of another company's press release and seem like a good idea at the time, the thing is going to be a train wreck. If Humankind is having an effect on Civ VI it seems more likely that it is making 2K even more wary of sharing the details of features until release is imminent so that Humankind can't take inspiration from new Firaxis ideas.
