Request: Would it be possible to change the thread title to something like "Winter Udate got announced!" when it finally happens?

I don't think, I want to go through this whole "Maybe today!?!!" forum posts with me being excited about new forum entries only to be disappointed by the lack of real news and some meaningless chatter instead.
Visiting the forum, seeing an unchanged thread title and immediately leaving it with a shrug would be so much easier for my nerves.

(Don't get me wrong. I am all for some meaningless chatter in the forum. Just please not in this thread ... )

Oh ... and I know it won't happen.

True, when it was more clear what STK meant. This tread gained like 4 pages in an hour or so. When firaxis announces something big like 10 civ new leaders with a seasonal ticket. Together with a new patch announcement. Civfanatics is going to explode.
And you will know something is going on besides talking about socks.

Meaningful chatter will likely only happen if anything gets posted on twitter or if the steamdb page gets updated. So you might as well keep that tab in your favourites and check it once in a while to see if the Last Recorded Update date has changed.

I would rather not be awake after 15:59 hours on tuesday till thursday in the coming 2 weeks. Otherwise firaxis holds back new content off course. Bite needs to be asleep.

I wish I knew, it would have been a huge help to plan my own mods development if I had known it would take so long compared to the 2 previous versions of the game.

Except maybe some development cost (cleaning the code before public release, obligation to update it with each patch) outweighing the benefits or not wanting other developers to have access to their gameplay/AI source code (don't laugh), I can't see any other valid reasons

edit: regardless, its disappointing. I tried a game recently, but without your giant earth the game feels stale going into industrial.

I don't know if they would tease a season ticket kind of thing. But announcements are usually a Tuesday/Thursday thing.

March 2018 Update - Monday
R&F Announcement - Tuesday
Khmer/Indonesia DLC - Mon/Tue
Nubia DLC - Tuesday
Macedon/Persia - Tue/Weds
Australia - Tuesday
Poland - Tuesday

So it seems a bit all over the place.

Edit: Added the rest of the DLC. Tuesday seems more likely if it's DLC we're getting. Otherwise it seems it could be any day.

Yeah, personally any public announcement/talking to other human beings sorts of things are definitely not on my list of what I want to do on a Monday morning.

It seems to me STK is very plausibly Shoot to Kill or Storm the Keep, and could be related to warfare scenarios. But only FXS knows for now.

Theory 2:
Sultans, Tyrants, and Kings
5-10 more leaders for existing civs

Theory 3:
Ships, Traders, and Kingdoms
The long-awaited exploration expansion

Yeah, as time passes even I somehow think expansion is more probable than DLC ... if STD is really first letters of something that is most likely expansion, because its not Civ tradition to put DLC's so late in development, and three letters for DLC name sound a little bit too much.
