Game Patch

Any news on Firaxis about a possible patch. The game in theory is great but this is buggier than Microsoft XP. I have a 2.6 GHz P4 (not Celeron), Ati 9800 Pro 128 MB with 1.5 GB Ram and this game crawls (it’s a gaming dedicated PC only. My e-mail/ office pc is another machine).

Civ 4 dissapointed me as much as C&C Generals. I grew up on C&C and Civ and the latest sequels are just such terrible embarrassments . Hope Firaxis can do a better job at fixing this beta version quickly.

Jep, i hope too they don't stay too long in primary beta and switch to some final-beta state with just some minor problems. it's a pitty to see companies selling stuff which hasn't been in proper beta testing and using the money of customers for beta-state-development. it would be ok if they just told me:"this is a buggy crappy version and we need some money and time to get things straight". but telling me:"yeah, we're out of beta all works smootly, and then getting all these errors...it makes my very very disappointed and I'll never gonna buy a firaxis game anymore, i'll just wait 1year after the release from now on to download some copied version, because, if they screw me, i'm gonna screw them"

There was one or two other threads here with people commenting that Firaxis has sais there is a patch on the way now, however when that patch will arrive and what it will exactly fix is not known as yet.

Actually I can tell you with 100% certainty that Firaxis not only knows exactly what they have to fix but they probobly had a fix for most of the problems before the game was even of the printing press. The game was released a month prematurly, forced out the door by the publisher. I can guarantee you that all these major bugs were caught in Q & A and reported already. They just didn't make the cut.

It's how the gaming industry does it now, they release games when they need money, not when they are ready.
