Game Tracking Thread

It would be fine if a Merlot turnplayer left the team to take over Mavericks, or Merlot recruited someone outside the game to play.

But we already voted not to allow multiple civs per team. ;)

Wouldn't that be the same thing? Not that I'm against this idea in general.

Hmmm... one possible solution would be for some Merlot nobles to break away from their king and move to the land of the Mavericks. Sure the nobles might still work with their former king for a while... but in the end there can still only be 1 victorious team. ;)

Given the current 1 vs. 4 diplomatic situation Merlot is in, I would vote for either option proposed so far for Merlot or some faction of Merlot taking over Mavericks. This would at least keep the game interesting.

It's hard too see how leaving Mavericks dormant would be much better than allowing city-gifting.

The Game still appears to be running out the clock...

I'd like to throw my vote in for some Merlot players to take over Marverick team, a dorment Civ is just as bad as city gifting imo.

I vote mavericks get taken over by a deity AI and permaaligned with merlot :hammer:

Someone from Merlot taking over Mavericks seems the most sensible thing to me too. I think it would be better if they left Merlot in order to do it, but either way is better than just sitting idle or being an AI.

Just my 2c as well though, I'll go with whatever the admins decide.

Speaking personally, having Merlot take control of Mavericks seems like a reasonably fair option from my point of view. It's not really going to hugely influence the outcome of the game at this point, but it might make life a little bit more interesting for the folks on Merlot. In the end, we should all be here to have fun above all else, not stick unwaveringly to rules that would - in this situation - probably unbalance the game even more.

Just my two cents. :)

Can't really blame Mavs for the lack of interest, it hasn't been an interesting game once the 4 team alliance formed and not being one of the 4 just makes it a press enter while waiting to die borefest. Hope the people who campaigned for tech trading to be on are happy (that is if they too haven't become to bored to play) with their creation.

Merlot taking of Mavs is probably the fairest and best solution in the circumstances but that or any other solution should be put to a team vote before anything is done.

Also this might be a good time to take stock and look at participation on the other teams too, because if other teams are struggling then we should address that now rather than in 50 or so turns being stuck with the same problem

I cannot agree more. However tech trading by itself is not the only fault. This map with tech trading on is the problem. Because if the map had land contact then we would be able to go to war early and fight for our survival when we saw the alliance forming...and Amazon for example would double think of chasing this alliance if they knew we could had 20 units outside their capital (just using Amazon as an example same is for everyone).... as it is with the islands start the only thing you can do is wait for the inevitable.

In any case we are good sports and are willing to take over Mavs to prolong the inevitable as much as possible...but please decide soon, do not wait 10 turns!

I was logged in OK and then logged out and tried to log back in. Now, I'm getting a weird runtime error I've never seen before when I try to log in. I hope the game's still up for others.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems to be a problem with a Java update at my end.

I also think, that it is the best for the game if Merlot takes over the Mavericks.

I get the same message.

Are we going to pause or reload?

Nah nevermind then I'll leave that up to the merlot the Sirians don't need a timeout.

I restarted the game to clear up the login problems. 26 hours left, so it's hardly urgent.

If some group of people (from whatever source) want to take over a depopulated civ, I think the game admins need to weigh in on whether they want to veto that, and it would be best to have as much consensus as possible.

For me, it still crashes on logging in.
