Gator01 - Team C - 100K

lurker's comment:
My understanding on RCP is that civ distances are all integer and rounded down. 2.5 is the same as 2. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I heard this. I think it was used by someone to place cities at distance 2 and 2.5 and still get full advantage of RCP.

[Edit: You are up in a lot of games, Bugsey.]

Early – Salamanca: settler=>scout
Whip Niagara’s temple and start a barracks. Found Gator River. Pop a hut and get a warrior.

Middle: Persia gets Alphabet. We get BW from a hut. The English build the Oracle. Salamanca: scout=>settler

Late: Salmanca: settler=>settler

Here’s Gatorland in 1750 BC:

Gang, I'm trying to open this w/ Civ III v1.29f and am getting an I/O error.

What version of the game are we playing? Please don't say we're playing 1.15f

Just a little reminder, Bugs. This is PTW, not 1.29 or Conquests.

Ah, that's why I can't get the save to work on 1.29f. Playing now.

Playing on PTW.

Early – Produce a settler out of Salmanca.

Middle – Found Gator River in the same spot. Here’s something different. We learn BW from a hut instead of getting a warrior. The second hut was deserted.

Late - Produce a second settler out of Salmanca. Niagara builds its temple. A third hut is deserted.

After Action – Use the archer to explore to the west. I’d settle on the hill to the NE of the settler. That’s at 3.5.

I would write a long report but it was dull and these tell the whole tale:

jb1964, I beleave you are up.

I still don't see any fresh water :cringe:

I apologize for my obvious inadequacies; the early game is still not my forte.

@TA, And I don't see the save :hmm:

I thought I managed to link the save to the image. :hmm:

Button, button, who's got the button?

Bede! :)

Are we playing vanilla Civ III or PTW?

Gator said:
This game plays as a vanilla Civ III game (no addons required).

Team C (PTW)

The above quote seem self-contradictory.

If this opens w/ PTW then that's what I'm sticking with.

@jb. Team C is PTW.

Rome and England have Math and it appears we’re making a mad dash to Philosophy.
Settlers, temples and galleys, oh my!
We have three workers in the south that seem to have been traveling an un-roaded path. What are these guys up to?

JB, They were suposed to be building a road south. Did they get out order?

Sir Bugsy, sadly no huts. Oil river in the south is there soley to claim gems.

I’m going to assume they’re down there to put some roads for future city to block off our friends and the warrior’s there to protect and/or block.

Note: The workers were already a few tiles from road so I brought them down to the hills to prep a site for one of our two settlers.

Egypt has Math as well.

The Russians and the Germans are trying to take our “waist”.

I’m spreading out the workers and the warrior to block the Germans and two Russian settler pairs for screwing us over.

They moved off!

Russia has Monarchy

The German’s are tromping all over Russian territory. Maybe we’ll get luck and they’ll cut each other’s throats.

Russians moved back and build below Mom’s Chunk.
Founded Mom’s Chunk.

We're 3 turns from Philo running -9gpt w/ 20 in the bank. We can turn it down to -7gpt and still manage 3 turns but we're going to get dinged a unit unless we streatch the build to 4 or find another coin.
