GCF1 - Vikings

got it.

I'm going to focus on military, our science is going nowhere...and quickly...
by the time my turns are over our makeshift military should have enough berserks to take on CELTS! I think taking Celt lands first are best priority due to they are closer to the FP and our ships can unload units there faster... after that we can go for Russia ASAP we they won't get to use their UU (if we are fast enough)

oy, I just finished one SG and was going on to this, but a family issue came up. I'll be gone all day tomorrow and some of sunday... so please skip me and go on to whoever is next.

ok back, thanks for taking the save gogf... unless you want me to take over. Oh I did see the game before I had to go, and we REALLY need to focus on worker production.

IMO, I think we might need to move the palace to Celt land, but that is only because our island is sooo crappy right now. What you think?

Good turns, I'm not sure if Hakon is a warmonger or not, but I too strongly suggest next player goes to war. Pillaging their iron (and horses) is mandatory too! Seeing another civ fall before industrial age is very important, actually seeing two fall might be just as possible (with some comrades of ours :mischief: )

he is here...somewhere...

*jumping up and down and attracting attention*

Here I am...dl-ing the save - not much of a warmonger, but will try to get the Celts out of the way.

(wonders why all of the SGs come in the middle of my holiday - nice to have something to do tho :))

Didn't go to war - built up instead...'

Inherited turn (1000 AD): Takes a look at our situation - IMO way too small invasion force to attack the Celts yet. Add to that that they have researched Feudalism - we don't really have a chance yet. So building up Berserks for war (IMO we need about 8-10 more).

1 (1010 AD): Kill some barbarians near Svolvaer. Send spare units to Sabratha (just to assess our invasion force).

2 (1020 AD): Stop some units on goto. Especially a galley with a settler was going nowhere... Try to free more units from city defense.

IBT: English settle NE of Stockholm.
Fauske worker -> berserk.

3 (1030 AD): Watch units move.

IBT: Bombay berserk -> berserk.
Oea pikeman -> berserk.

4 (1040 AD): Switch Trondheim to Sun Tzu, Sistine in Copenhagen.

IBT: SoZ - AC.
Birka Berserk -> berserk.
Farsund worker -> berserk.

5 (1050 AD): Move units.

6 (1060 AD): Move units.

IBT: Chemistry -> Metallurgy.

7 (1070 AD): Send the Russians away from Karistad.

IBT: Bryansk harbor -> temple.
Sulcis pikeman -> galley.

8 (1080 AD): Tell the Celts they're not gonna get past Sabratha.

IBT: Bergen berserk -> berserk.
Stockholm temple -> berserk.
Forbidden Palace completed! Switch to Berserk in Hareid.
Haugesund worker -> temple.
Russians building Leo.

9 (1090 AD): Change Oea and Farsund to workers, because building berserks in 66 turns is pretty useless.

IBT: SoZ -> AC.
Oslo Galley -> Berserk.

10 (1100 AD): Move units.

Summary: Our invasion force now counts 8 AC, 5 Berserks, 1 MI, 1 Trebuchet, 1 Catapult. Another 3 AC, 1 MI are waiting to be shipped, another 2 AC near Batsfjord. I think these 10 build-up turns were needed. If I can make a suggestion, go for Gergovia first, and then the southernmost cities (Alesia, Richborough, Verulanium). Perhaps we can get their iron gone (I'm not sure whether they have more sources).

I have also cut off the road to Leptis Minor - this gives us an advantage because we can see the attackers before they arrive. My guess is that they'll send a wave of troops to attack Leptis Minor (about 4, 5 Gallic Swordsmen) and it might be better to attack them before they attack us.

War?

Great turns Hakon! I too think we should take Gergovia, followed by amphibious attack on Alesia, since getting their iron offline is very important right now.

Conehead your up!

That makes me up, i will probaly continue to build a force or maybe I will just attack the celts.

:wavey:
