General Knowledge Quiz

Ok, so it's between Australia and South Georgia somewhere. Knowing you right, it has something to do with France (:p)... Kerguelen perhaps?

Kerguelen it is!

The German auxiliary cruiser Atlantis called at Kerguelen during December 1940. During their stay the crew performed maintenance and replenished their water supplies. The ship's first fatality of the war came when a sailor fell while painting the funnel. He is buried in what is sometimes referred to as "the most southerly German grave" of the Second World War

What on earth were they doing down there? Was it anything of value at Kerguelen?

Ok, which painter painted this painting?

Does it answer your question?

Yes! It's the Night Watch.

Well, I was more wondering what the ship was doing in a remote location like that in the first place... but nevermind.

Yay! I remember seeing it when I went to Holland. (At least I think it was that one... It was something by Rembrandt.)

What about Guyana? Georgetown seems to be a pretty common name, but I don't know about other capitals with that name though.
