General Turn Discussion

I have never seen a river doing that after it passed through flat lands. But then again I don't play that much civ and Sullla has edited the map.

I doubt sullla played with any rivers is T-Hawk's recent comment is to be trusted. Here is a T-Hawk provided Exhibit A ...

What difficulty? And is that an OCC game?

M-H, I think you are probably right, we should just stick to the rivers now.

Editing rivers in worldbuilder is very difficult and frustrating.

Well there is 3 paths I can see:

1. The first log in of the turn should be done by the turn plyaer and thus must "end" their turn.
==>I am not neccesarily for this as there can be instances that require team feedback (i.e. contact, counter offer to a trade, etc.), but that said we do have turn players for a reason, to make a judgement call based on the feeling of the team. No matter how much you plan life throws unexpected (excuse the pun) random events at us and we have to adapt.

2. We agree that there are no negatives events. As such if one pops up the player forces the game to quit, and then can log in without it.
==>This is the only way to ensure equality

3. We keep Random events and require a reload everytime one fires.
(Even positive ones have choices)

Can we get a quick poll by paw on this?

Personally I agree with Memphus that 2 is the only fair way to go about it, 3 isn't an option and 1 isn't democracy.

I can't think of anything better so 2 it is, but what wil be the precise exit procedure if we choose #2?

I believe you really need to hit the "windows" button and force quit from Task Manager....possibly Alt+F4 does the same thing.

Are we even sure that the "event" will be disabled the following turn??? I am only asking because some of the mechanics are different using simultaneous-vs-sequential turns.

I vote #2 also if that is the option....I would prefer that the "player" make a decision and the TEAM HAS TO STICK TO IT.

whatever the outcome we can decide to let our turnplayer be the first to open the game afteroll over (i.e. MS ends thier turn) as well as the first to open it after i is actually our turn.

i can usually get in there pretty quick, make the call and be out so as to not impede anyoen else from looking around.

@Sulla can't wait to see a spoiler from you at the end of the game ,can only imagine the fun you are having watching all of us comment on your map :)

I think Barentz should move S SW this turn, onto the wheat, then head Sw Sw next turn (or SW then reconsider); it's still heading south, but may (hopefully) uncover a food resource south of the horse so it makes it easier to consider a city down there.

Stuy, should he just move back east to get out of the dead end then head west along the river?
