Hmm, well.. That is a tough one. :p I guess what I will do is work on other stuff for now, like the Austrian BB, finish the Gangut etc, and do things that are not of the Dreadnought era.. Excepting the Austrian one of course.. So WWII BB's, Pre Dread BB's etc.. There is certainly enough to do..

Well, by Snafu's definition, the Gangut and Tegetthoff are BOTH WWI Dreadnoughts and on his "to-do" list!

See the problem Matt? Your current ship and the one you plan to do next are both technically on Snafu's list! Snafu just laid down a huge blanket of ships that are covered under what he just said.

Do you do them anyways, or do we wait for Snafu to tell us when these things will be available for download?
 
I will do those, as I was specifically requested to, but then we will see in the near future what Snafu does. ;) I only wish I could figure out this texturing bit to my satisfaction.. I just cannot get the colours right and all..

As for the actual 'to-do list' of ships for Blood and Iron, I didn't mean that I was going to make every ship from WW1, only the major ones - Since you're (Wolfshanze) the default naval researcher for that mod, whatever you come up with as the 'typical' ship or ship class for each type (dreadnought, pre-dread, protected cruiser, armoured cruiser, torpedo-boat, destroyer, submarine, etc) is what I plan to make.

Yeah, I know that's an ambitous list, but I don't plan to wait for all of them to be finished before I release anything. I also don't plan to hold back any of the WW1 warships I make. I would have released some more if they were finished, but they're not.

The only units that won't be released are those that don't apply to the modding comunity as a whole, things like the Russian Tsar Tank and the Austrian-Hungarian PKZ-2 helicopter. Many of the land units (the revised ones) will only be released in the mod, but only because they're already posted here and are available.

As for working in secret? Well, I try not to - but constantly updating a request thread like this one is tough, I don't really know how Matt does it. I try to be transparent, but completing so many units so quickly (I'm on my third or fourth aircraft in the last 2 days) means lots of needless posts.

Well... one could start off my Dreadnought list for WWI on Matt's #395 post in this thread (page 20). Those are the most common Dreadnoughts from the WWI timeframe...

The Pre-Dreadnoughts on that list I made for a differant reason, as the main ships of the Pre-Dreadnought era... so most of those are from the early to mid 1890s... and most of them saw limited (if any) service in WWI... but there is a list of "newer" Pre-Dreadnoughts from the early 1900s that saw considerable service in WWI... and the "semi-dreadnoughts" like the Agamemnon that might fit your mod better then the Pre-Dreadnoughts of the 1890s.

I haven't said much about your WWI project because I know you've been knee-deep in planes and tanks and what-not, and admited that you didn't want to work on ships after the Helgoland for awhile... so I've been quiet.

If/when you want me to give you a ship or ships to do, just say the word... but I would consider you more "skunkworks-like", because you're more of a mystery to me on when and what you're working on!

Smitty, I actually find this thread keeps the whole business a bit lighter and easier, maybe it is just me. :p

I also find it easier than tracking all the request from all the different threads, just point everyone to here, at least that was the plan. :lol:

Edit: GO, that is exactly what I thought when Wolfie mentioned that word. ;)

By all means, send me a list of the ships you recommend (PM is fine). I'll be sure to let you know when I start work on something. I'll try and be less mysterious - maybe tonight I'll post my most current to-do list. No timetable though, I typically work 12 hour days, and I know I have to work next weekend too - I do what I can, but its tough at times.

Anyways, how is it? Does it need more detail?
 
Wolf....lol

Matt...the ship looks great......however.....I think the brown on top of the structures (not the hull) is a bit over bearing and detracts from the overall design. Maybe go with a metal colour over these surfaces.

Overall.....its UGLY as hell and the way it should be :lol:
 
I did ad a tad more detail, I took a page from Smitty's book and and added a rail, and the forgotten small boats. So here..

WW2C: You really think it needs a metal structure? Probably you are right..

I have also re uploaded all my stuff that was lost, I think. So if you come across a file of mine that is not downloadable, mention it, and I will fix it if I can.
 
I know, I just do not want to go through and click "download" on them all. I have a bit of lack of time atm. :p
