GeneralMatt's Creation Thread

Ok, good, that is what I will do with the lifeboats. Thanks for your patience. :p

And it does look like Smitty's dreadnought's animations will work perfect and I can get all three turrets working. :)

This look better?

Okay Matt... maybe I lied about the lifeboats... make TWO SIZES of lifeboats... the one on the smokestack and stern are about right... but I think we need two nose-to-stern lifeboats that aren't much longer then the secondary battery itself... should still be about the same width, just SHORTER...

Ok.. We will see. :p I have already started to put it on the bones, it is kind of hard to modify after that, it might not even be noticeable in-game. :p

Please see PMs!

Ooh, sorry. I replied..

Just about done, I am just testing her out in Civ..

Unfortunately I cannot get her to work with the dreadnought, so only two working turrets. :(

There, done. Just uploading. :)

*Sigh*.. Yeah sure. :) Right after I finish up that other project I keep saying I will be doing. :p And I think I need to do a modern Wasp class also..

It is fun modeling though, don't get me wrong. ;)

Hehe... that actually sits on my desk... same one.

Now let's see if Octavius is as persistent, pesky and image-dumping as that crazy Wolfshanze guy is... squeeky wheel gets the grease and all, thing...

Of course... NOW I find these pics...

Ironic eh? I had a small thumbnail version of the first one, but those would have helped so much! :p

For some weird reason I want to take on the Colossus undertaking of modeling all the Royal Navy Class ships from World War two, then the American/German/Japanese ones. To take on this Formidable, Courageous and Venerable Adventure, I would have to Hunt for many blueprints and images, and charge on with a Implacable, Indomitable, and Indefatigable will as they did in the War,spite the enemy to his face and Cavalier on. But despite the Renown and Glory it would bring me I fear I should Repulse the desire and continue with my other things, though I may do this Noble cause after my original commitments are done..

Anyways, I just had to do that. :p

I'd still encourage you to make a v2.0 of the SMS Brandenburg... especially if you have more info to make an even better model (I still think the turrets could stand to be enlarged a bit in the Civ4 model).

Most of the ships you just mentioned are actually WWI ships, not WWII ships. Still, exactly what would you do with for or five Dreadnoughts and Battleships for the same nation? Do we need five differant British Dreadnought flavor ships?

I say redo your Canopus class British Pre-Dreadnought now that your skills are so much better... do a Japanese Pre-Dreadnought... do a British Dreadnought, do an American Dreadnought... do a French Battleship... a Russian Battleship... get the drift?

Of course Snafu is going to be "going to town" on various WWI vessels, so maybe you should concentrate on Pre-Dreadnoughts and/or WWII warships.

I'd be happy to pester you with photos and pics of ships if you need them... I still think you should "redeem" yourself on the Canopus-class Pre-Dreadnought, or a differant British Pre-Dreadnought!

Very good, GM! Let me just say that only an Intrepid individual such as yourself would even dare to take on such a noble Enterprise, so there is certainly no harm in taking on a more modest project. However, I would be amiss if I did not inform you that verily, I am stung as if by a Hornet to hear that you cannot complete it once you are already Midway through the task at hand. Nonetheless, I understand. :D

In other words, as long as you can sneak in one or two WWII units every now and then, I think we shall be placated. :mischief:

That's really bad guys... you need to stop that... especially since both of you can't stick to WWII ships... Gaius, you went out-of-bounds with the "Midway" referance, because CV-41 Midway wasn't commissioned until after the war ended... the ship entered service on 10 September 1945... the war was over!

If you guys are going to make bad paragraphs while trying to sneak-in WWII ships, at least use ships that saw service in WWII!

Now what we really need are more Pre-Dreadnoughts... because if you were Majestic enough to make some more of them, then Mikasa is your casa.

According to my copy of the World Almanac, World War II (as far as combat records go) ended on December 31, 1946, by presidential proclamation.

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I always thought that was kind of odd, since September 2 (1945) is the date of the surrender, but that's what the casualty lists say. Please correct me if this is wrong.

That's too stupid to even comment on... World War II ended on September 2nd, 1945.

Your USS Midway referance is out of the time-line.

Keep it in-bounds next time, and make another comment about innacurate history, we'll have to ban you from making historical contributions or content from the site!
