Any Land units and stuff? I assume there will be no land masses, just islands also, and maybe reefs and stuff using the Space mod idea, it has Space stuff that can hurt your ship. Maybe we could mod that, with the planets becoming Islands and stuff..

I was personally thinking of a historical map of the Caribbean. I'm not so sure if a straight up represenation of the Pirates CCG (or 'Pocketmodle" as they're calling it now) game .would be good, but a semi-historical Pirate mod based loosely on that game. We could call it "Fan Fiction"

I remember when we were brainstorming for the Civ 3 one, we were going to have a few different say "British" Civs with different leaders, like for the Privateer thing. I guess we could make the "Privateers" "Barbarian" and also vassals.. Or just make all their Ships UU's with the Privateer Ability. Also, i cannot say what or who, but soon there will be a release of something that will make this very feasable, very very interesting.
We could have you custom build your ships with the Promotion idea. You build a shipyard, and can build say Sloops, and a bigger shipyard and you can build bigger ships. Also ad a building that adds "Accoutrement" (Promotions). You can choose between adding 2 Pounders (+1 Strength),
6 Pounders (+2), 12 Pounders (+3 and +1 First Strike), 24 Pounders (+4 and +2 First Strikes) and REAL heavy ones (+2 and +3 because in real close places they would be hard to handle).
Sloops could only carry 2 Pounders, and later when you get the Tech, 6.
You would have a lot of promotions though, as you would have to have a whole line for each gun with each type (So that you can have maximum say 6 6 pounders on one sloop, but 24 on a Frigate).
So
Sloop:
2 Pounder I, 2 Pounder II, 2 Pounder III etc
6 Pounder II, 6 Pounder II, 6 Pounder III
Frigate
2 Pounder I, 2 Pounder II, 2 Pounder III, 2 Pounder IV, 2 Pounder V, 2 Pounder VI etc
6 Pounder I etc
12 Pounder I etc
24 Pounder I, 24 Pounder II etc..
And then there could be crew promotions, like a Musketman (+1 Strength).
Also Cargo Promotions (+1 Carry)
Speed Promotions (+1 Move)
Also, things like heavy cannon would slow you down.
I wonder if there is a way to make promotions obsolete each other for the thing they are on (So if you have a ship full of 2 pounders you cannot put all the 6 pounders on also..)

Hmmm... this shows the 'Hungarian Navy' using it's only dreadnought in an interesting fashion. "Schiff verlassen! Los vom Schiff!"

GO, is that another Russian BB? I am thinking of a Italian BB Littorio next actually, or the French Dunkerque... Depends on what Wolfshanze wants to find.
